Tanniu town

Tanniu Town, belonging to Wenchang City, Hainan Province, is located in the middle of Wenchang City. It borders Gongpo town and Dongge town in the East, Wencheng town in the south, Donglu Town, Haikou town and Sanmenpo town in the west, and Baoluo town in the north. It is 11 kilometers away from Wenchang City. Its total area is 141 square kilometers.

In October 1958, when the township was withdrawn, Hongcheng production management zone was established. In December 1958, the production management area of Hongcheng was divided into three branches: Chengjiao, Tanniu and Qinglan. In March 1959, Tanniu commune was established. In May 1961, East Road commune was set up in Tanniu commune. In 1987, it was changed into Tanniu town. In 2002, Xinqiao Town was merged into Tanniu town. In the same year, the new bridge office of Tanniu town was established. In 2009, the overall system of Xinqiao Town was under the jurisdiction of Tanniu town. By the end of 2018, the population of Taoxu town registered residence was 36394. As of June 2020, Tanniu town has jurisdiction over three communities, 15 administrative villages and one village level unit.

By the end of 2018, there were 23 industrial enterprises in Tanniu Town, 1 industrial enterprise above Designated Size, and 10 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

In December 2019, it will be selected as the national rural governance demonstration township.

Historical evolution

In 1931, it belonged to Tanniu Township and Zhongxin Township in the Sixth District.

In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it belonged to Tanniu Township and tanle Township, the fourth district.
