Xinbu Street
Xinbu street, under Meilan District, Haikou City, Hainan Province, is located in the northeast of Meilan District. It is adjacent to the South River in the East, Xinbu bridge in the south, Haikou City, Henggou River in the west, Haidian island across the river, and Qiongzhou Strait in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 2000 meters, and the maximum distance between North and south is 2000 meters, with a total area of 5.6 square kilometers. The land area is 3.7 square kilometers, accounting for 66.7%; the water area is 1.9 square kilometers, accounting for 33.3%.
In August 1983, the commune was changed into a district and the Hailian District Office was established. In April 1987, a new town was set up. On October 16, 2002, the administrative division of Haikou City was adjusted. Zhendong district was abolished and Meilan District was established. Xinbu town was under the jurisdiction of Meilan District. On December 29, 2004, Xinbu town was abolished and Xinbu street was established. At the end of 2011, Xinbu sub district had a total population of 14124, including 11103 urban permanent residents, with an urbanization rate of 78.6%. As of June 2020, Xinbu sub district has jurisdiction over four communities, and the sub district office is located in Xinbu Avenue, Xindong community.

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Fengdu Township and Yizhou capital.
After the liberation of Hainan, the people's Government of Xinbu Township, called Xiaoxiang, was established, which was subordinate to the third district.
