Heping South Street, subordinate to Meilan District, Haikou City, Hainan Province, is located in the north of Meilan District, with Bailong street in the East, Lantian street in the south, Boai street in the West and Baisha street in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 0.5 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 1 km, with a total area of 3 square kilometers. The land area is 2.93 square kilometers, accounting for 97.6%; the water area is 0.07 square kilometers, accounting for 2.4%.
Heping South Street was formerly known as Shangpo village of Ainong brigade of Hongqi commune. Later, Hongqi commune was renamed as Boai District, under the jurisdiction of Boai district. In July 1989, Heping South Street was established, under Zhendong district. On October 16, 2002, Zhendong district was abolished and Meilan District was established. Heping South Street was under the jurisdiction of Meilan District. At the end of 2011, the total population of Heping South Street was 32100, including 28910 urban permanent residents, with an urbanization rate of 90.06%. As of June 2020, Heping South Street has jurisdiction over five communities, and the sub district office is located at 123 Junyao new village, Junyao community.
