Sishan town
Sishan town is located in the southeast of Xingbin District of Laibin City, which is 109 ° 18 ′ 4 ″ - 109 ° 28 ′ 56 ″ east longitude and 23 ° 26 ′ 36 ″ - 23 ° 35 ′ 56 ″ north latitude. Laibin Wuxuan second-class highway runs through the territory for about 15 kilometers. Sishan street beside the second-class highway where the town government is stationed is about 36 kilometers away from Laibin city center. It borders Nansi Township and Luxin town of Wuxuan County in the East, Shiya Township in the south, Sanwu Township in the West and Mengcun town in the north, with a total area of 198.6 square kilometers. There are two scenic spots in Sishan Town, namely Aoshan and Jinfeng mountain, which belong to the "eight sceneries of Laibin", as well as rich manganese resources.
Evolution of organizational system
Sishan town was originally called Sijiao, and most of the residents moved here from Guangdong in their early years. According to the records of Zhai Zhi, the Qing system basically followed the Ming system. Before Daoguang, it was nansanli, which governed three regiments, namely Kangji regiment, Kangtai regiment, and Kang orchestra. In the early years of the Republic of China, it was called the Fourth District of Laibin county. In December 1933, Sishan Township and Shiya Township were merged into the eighth District of the county, which had jurisdiction over five autonomous villages, namely Sijiao autonomous street, LUZHENG autonomous village, Dongchen autonomous village, Xuanhua autonomous village, luolu autonomous village and wuman autonomous village. In 1935, Sijiao township was established. after the founding of the people's Republic of China, in January 1950, the people's Government of Sishan district was established, located at Sijiao street. In April 1951, it was renamed the eighth District People's government. In November 1952, it was located in Shiya. In November 1958, the district was withdrawn and townships were set up. Two townships, Sishan and Shitang, were separated from Shiya. Sishan township is located in Sijiao street, which governs seven townships, namely Sijiao, wuman, Donggua, Dongchen, Daben, Shangshui and Shangtuan. Shitang township is located in Shitang street, which governs three townships, namely Shitang, Dalu and ChenWang. In February 1959, Shitang township was incorporated into Sishan commune. In June 1961, Sishan commune was divided into two communes: Sishan commune and Shitang commune. In September 1962, the commune was abolished and the organizational system of the district was restored. Two communes, Sishan and Shitang, were merged into Sishan commune, which governed 11 communes, namely Sishan commune, Shitang commune, Dalu commune, ChenWang commune, shigu commune, Jinshan commune, Baoshan commune, Shangtuan commune, Daben commune, Dongchen commune and Donggua commune. In March 1968, Sishan district was established. In January 1969, it was renamed Sishan people's commune. It has 13 production teams, namely Sishan, Heshan, Dalu, Dahe, Shitang, wuman, Dagu, Shangshui, Shangtuan, Dongchen, Donggua, Daben and ChenWang. In September 1984, the commune was removed and established into a township, which has jurisdiction over 17 villagers' committees and 94 natural villages, namely Shitang, Wangyuan, ChenWang, Dahe, Dalu, Heshan, Sishan, wuman, Xinbu, Shangshui, Shangtuan, Daben, Dongchen, Dushi, Ancun, Donggua and Liuli. In 1996, the village office was withdrawn and renamed as the villagers' committee. In 2007, ChenWang village committee of Sishan Township changed its name to Aoshan village. on May 8, 2014, the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved that Sishan Township in Xingbin District of Laibin city should be changed from township to town.

geographical environment
Sishan town is located in Hilly and mountainous areas, the terrain is high in the South and low in the north. The main mountains in the territory are located in the southwest, and the mountains in the East and southwest are connected. The peaks form clusters, and there are karst depressions and valleys between the clusters. The main rivers are Dahe (also called hemin River), which originates from crab dam in Lianhua village of Shiya, runs through the town from south to North and flows into Hongshui River. The soil is sandy soil and muddy sandy soil. In the East is siliceous red soil and siliceous gravel soil, in the southwest is brown lime soil, and in the middle is low valley soil. Proven minerals include manganese, talc, barite, molybdenum, iron, limestone, etc.

Sishan town has 4172 hectares of cultivated land, including 2377 hectares of dry land and 1795 hectares of paddy field. The main crops are rice, sugarcane, corn, soybeans, silkworms, etc.

Transportation
There are secondary roads leading to Laibin, Wuxuan and other places in the town, with 17 km of secondary roads and 29 km of township roads. There are 94 natural villages in the town, and every village is connected with highway. The daily shuttle bus to and from Bin City runs every 15 minutes, with an average daily passenger flow of 3000 people. The daily shuttle bus to Wuxuan runs 18 times, and the daily shuttle bus to Liuzhou runs one time, with an average daily passenger flow of 300 people. In 2006, three village level highways from Shitang to ChenWang, Shitang to Wangyuan, and Sishan to Shangtuan were built, which opened up a road to prosperity for the economic development of the township.

There is a new trade market in the township. In 2006, there were 215 effective commercial stores, 404 stalls, 1426 employees, 14.4 million yuan of retail sales of social goods, and 13.9 million yuan of market trade. There were two supermarkets in the township, and there were agency stores in every village. There is a jinwanfu supermarket in the new development zone, covering an area of 600 square meters.
