It is the political, economic, cultural, educational and technological center of Songzi City. Its original name is Chuan Zi Tsui. Before the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty, it was a barren lake. Most people made a living by fishing. Only heshaqiao had several small shops. In 1870, the Yangtze river burst and the Songzi river formed. Because there is a Jitou protruding into the river bank, which looks like a beak. Fishermen usually dock the boat (small fishing boat) at the side of the beak, so it's named the boat.
