Liuwei town

Liuwei town is located in the middle of Jinchengjiang District, Hechi City, Guangxi Province, connecting Baitu, Jinchengjiang and Dongjiang towns in the East, Liujia, Hechi and Wuwei towns in the west, Du'an Yao Autonomous County and Yizhou City in the south, and Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County in the north. It is an old and young town.

Human history

Liuwei is named after a long historical legend. It is said that Han Tianzhen, a descendant of Han Xin in the early Han Dynasty, moved to Yizhou in the South and settled down in Dujie. His descendants lived in 11 villages of Liuwei. They met regularly to commemorate Han's ancestors on the 6th, 16th and 26th of the lunar new year. Later, the meeting place gradually became Wei, so it was named Liuwei. on June 1, 1996, with the approval of the autonomous region, the township was set up as a town. The town is a small flat land surrounded by hills and karst landforms in the middle and the North Bank of Jincheng river. The town government is only 3 kilometers away from the city center, with unique geographical advantages. It is the golden section of the southwest sea passage. At present, the total area of the town is 230.33 square kilometers, and the cultivated land area is 22056 mu. Among them, the paddy field area is 14690 mu, and the dry land area is 7366 mu. It governs 12 administrative villages (Liuwei community, pochang community, Lingxiao, Kenyan, BANBA, Dazhang, Longgu, Biandong, Xingdong, balie, Zuzhi, balun, xiaai, Tongjin) in 2 communities, 171 villages (residents) groups in 121 natural villages, with a population of more than 25000, and 6 villages, including Zhuang, Han, Yao, Mulao, Shui, Maonan, etc Among them, Zhuang nationality accounts for the vast majority.

Liuwei enjoys the reputation of "land of fish and rice" and "Jincheng vegetable basket base". Its agricultural and sideline products include sticky rice from shangshetun, Lingxiao village, pickled sauerkraut and Thai peach from Liuwei street, and local goats and native chickens raised in mountainous areas. On October 25, Liuwei community mass culture and entertainment center of Liuwei town was completed. Huang Weiyi, deputy secretary of the district Party committee, Wei Liangqian, deputy head of the District, Hu Ying, deputy director of the District People's Congress and other leaders attended the unveiling ceremony. through multi-party financing, Liuwei community mass culture and entertainment center started construction in May 2009 and was completed before the national day, with a construction area of 450 square meters and a total investment of 204000 yuan.
