Qiandong town
Qiandong town belongs to Raoping County, Guangdong Province. It is adjacent to Huanggang town in the East, Yanhong town in Chenghai District of Shantou City and Tiepu town in Xiangqiao District in the west, Weizhou town in the South and Gaotang town and Zhangxi town in the north.
Qiandong town has a total area of 122.66 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 25 administrative villages and 3 communities, with a total population of 87224 people (in 2017); in 2015, the town achieved a total industrial and agricultural output value of 4.506 billion yuan.
Qiandong town is a "national key town" and a "national pilot town for small town construction". It has won the honorary titles of "hometown of salt baked chicken in China", "advanced health town in Guangdong Province", "central town in Guangdong Province" and "famous tourism town in Guangdong Province". On July 24, 2019, it will be included in the list of the construction of national agricultural industry strong towns in 2019.
Historical evolution
In the late Song Dynasty, Qiandong area was still a shallow sea area, and the harbor directly reached the hinterland of Qiandong. At that time, some people from Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong and other places moved to the south. They were all Han people. Except for 90% of Ziyun Township, they belonged to many surnames and settled in scattered places. In 1477, it belonged to chentangbao, Xinning capital of Raoping County; it was set up along the Ming Dynasty in the Qing Dynasty, and its subordination remained unchanged. In 1928, Qiandong district was established. in 1947, Raoping County was divided into townships (towns) with Bao and Jia. In August 1951, according to the decision of the Central South military and political Commission on the division of districts and townships, Qiandong was the seventh district of the county. In 1953, the residents committee of Qiandong town was established, which was under the jurisdiction of Qiandong district. It was the first town in Chaoshan area to set up residents committee. At the end of 1956, Qiandong district was replaced by Qiandong township. In September 1958, Qiandong commune was established in the county. On November 5, 1983, Qiandong commune was restored to Qiandong district. In November 1986, Qiandong district was changed into Qiandong Town, and the division was adjusted.

Hydrology
The rivers in Qiandong town mainly include Huizhai River, the first branch canal, the second branch canal, etc. the streams are short and small, and most of them are manually excavated drainage and irrigation canals. Huizhai river reconstruction project was completed in the 1960s. It originates from Jingxin, flows through Jingnan, xishanzhai, Huizhai, zhitou and other villages, and goes out of the east gate. The first branch canal and the second branch canal diverge from the main canal in the north of Shanfen expressway. The first branch canal flows into Huanggang river through shicuo, shangfushan, shencuo, Licuo and other villages in the East, and flows out of three branch canals and four branch canals. The second branch canal flows through Yanshan, Beishan and other villages and exits from Jiuxi bridge. The third branch canal flows through the town, followed by the second branch canal and Huizhai river. Except for the first and second branch canals, other canals flow into qingshandi, Tuolin Bay.
