Lankou town
Lankou town is located in the east of Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, in the middle and upper reaches of Dongjiang River. It is one of the central towns designated by the provincial government, covering an area of 196 square kilometers (2017), with 220000 mu of land and 28000 mu of arable land, including 21000 mu of paddy field and 76.3% of forest coverage. It has 22 village committees and 2 neighborhood committees, with a total population of 28290 (2017). The traffic in this town is very convenient. 43 kilometers away from the county seat, 205 National Road, Beijing Kowloon Railway, Guangzhou Meizhou Shantou railway and Helong Expressway pass through the abdomen. Dongjiang River flows from northeast to southwest, passing 250 tons of ships, forming a water and land transportation network extending in all directions.
Economics
In recent years, the town has actively implemented the "town driven" development strategy. It adheres to the idea of supporting land with land, building a city with land, and building a central town with Shangwang town to promote economic development and strive to become an economic, political and cultural center of neighboring towns. At the same time, the town has actively implemented the strategy of "export-oriented driving, loan development", formulated preferential policies for foreign investment, attracted investment, established agricultural leading enterprises and built high-tech enterprises, and achieved initial results. The town government plans to build an industrial park with an area of 300000 square meters at the entrance and exit of Helong Expressway to attract Phoenix.
Once prosperous "dock economy"
Due to the advantages of transportation and geographical location, Lankou town has always been the distribution center of industrial and agricultural products in the middle and upper reaches of Dongjiang River. It has become a centralized trade center across Lianping, Longchuan and Heping counties. Due to the large trade volume, it is known as "tiger market".
According to the relevant person in charge of Lankou town government, Lankou Town, as a large town along the Dongjiang River, has always had a wide range of trade areas and extremely frequent trade activities. It should be said that this is closely related to its superior transportation advantages (including water transportation, land transportation and railway transportation). In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, in order to facilitate the communication with the outside world, the local people built a simple Wharf on the Bank of Dongjiang River. Because water transportation was the main mode of transportation at that time, the simple wharf soon played a leading role in commerce and trade. Many businessmen from surrounding towns came here to do business, and agricultural products were also sold from here to other places. With the development of water transportation, Lankou town has become one of the important wharves in the middle and upper reaches of Dongjiang River Basin, that is to say, it has played the role of a transfer station for regional water transportation trade.
It is understood that the town has been listed as the "three important towns of Dongjiang River" since ancient times, mainly because of its Wharf in Dongjiang River Basin. According to the local old villagers, in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, after the establishment of the wharf in Lankou Town, businessmen from other places such as Dongguan and Guangzhou transported to the town by water to collect agricultural products such as pickles and potato chips, and farmers from surrounding areas also transported their crops here to other places, gradually becoming an important transportation hub in the middle and upper reaches of the Dongjiang River. Before and after the founding of the people's Republic of China, there were more than 400 large and small shops in the town, and the number of docks increased from one to four. Some businessmen also built small shipyards, pharmaceutical factories, and agricultural machinery factories here, and the products were directly transported by water to other places for sale, thus radiating and driving the rapid development of the local economy. As far as the route is concerned, it has gradually developed into Shanghai direct flight to Liucheng and Laolong, and the next direct flight to Huangtian, Yihe and Huizhou. It joins the Beijiang River and enters the Pearl River Estuary through Guangzhou. At the same time, there are passengers and cargo ships passing through Heyuan every day. With national highway 205 and Beijing Kowloon Railway running through the town, around the 1980s, the once prosperous water transportation trade of the town went down, and the active "wharf economy" trade situation gradually declined. It is understood that the local "wharf economy" has been basically replaced by land transportation.
The stone house is famous
The stone building enclosed house in Le Village of the town is the most well preserved and the largest ancient residential building in the town. It is also one of the witnesses of the ancient literature and history of the town. The historical records of the stone building enclosed house are well known in the local area. Now, the local government and villagers are preparing to develop it as a tourist attraction.
According to historical records, Lecun stone walled house was built in the late Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It took three generations to complete the whole building. The enclosed building is unique in design, reasonable in layout, complete in structure, fine in stone carving, and made of granite. There are four buildings (main seats) and four bars (horizontal rooms) in the enclosed house. There are six turrets in the horizontal rooms on both sides of the enclosed house, and the two turrets in front of and behind the horizontal room on the right side are the turrets of the fort. Inside the gate, there are water tanks on the forehead, two guard rooms on both sides, and two ancient wells at both ends of the front wall. The turret of the fort, the water trough on the forehead, the guard room inside the gate and the ancient well are all defense facilities to deal with the chaotic army and thieves in the chaos. The whole enclosed house covers an area of more than 4000 square meters. On the back of the house, there is a large semi-circular flower stand, about 2000 square meters. The floor of the flower stand is made of river pebbles in imitation of the Forbidden City in Beijing. The whole enclosed house has 98 rooms, 15 large patios, 6 small patios, four upper, middle and lower halls, and four main halls with nine round stone columns and stone seats. These stone pillars support the stacked golden frame in the hall. The wooden beams and eaves are made of excellent wood and stone. The beams, columns and eaves are carved with dragons and painted with Phoenix.
During the interview, the reporter found that compared with other ancient dwellings, the structure of the stone building enclosure is really quite different. The whole stone building enclosure has a circle in the square, a square in the circle, and a round place in the sky; the hall and the horizontal room are separated and connected, and the winding lane corridor is not dark. The horizontal room also has a hall and a room, and the upper, middle and lower corridors are connected together. The hall and the hall are connected, and the buildings are connected , showing originality. The plaques of "dafudi", "Deputy list" and "Wukui" hanging on the door of the house are still clearly visible. Walking into the enclosure is like entering a labyrinth, knowing its entrance but not its exit.
Build Dongjiang transportation center
In an interview with reporters, the relevant person in charge of the Lankou town government said that the traffic advantage has always been a "cake" for the town's economic development, which is also a rare treasure for mountainous towns. The township party committee and government will make full use of this platform, carry forward the advantages of the important towns and regions in the Dongjiang River Basin, increase the efforts to attract investment and develop leading agricultural enterprises, and spare no effort to build an important traffic town in the Dongjiang River. 205 national highway, Shihuang highway, Beijing Kowloon, Guangzhou Meishan railway and Hemei Helong Expressway run through the whole territory. It can be said that at that time, the town will form a water and land transportation extending in all directions and crisscrossing vertically and horizontally. It will only be more than 40 kilometers from the Helong Expressway to the urban area, and will be included in the two-hour Pearl River Delta economic circle. Through the efforts of the whole town, we believe that the future of Lankou town will be better.
resources
The town is rich in resources. There are 11 hydropower stations in the town, with a total installed capacity of 17660 kW. There are still 23000 kW of water resources available for development and utilization. There are large reserves of rare earth, quartzite, magnetic earth, tin and other minerals, which have great development potential. It has been proved that the mineral reserves of quartz are 100 million tons and the rare earth reserves are 5 million tons.
