Under the rock
”It was renamed in the early Republic of China“
Yanzhen
”。 Yanzhen is divided into two parts: Pingyue in the East and shanchiyue in the West. Yanzhen (Yanxia) has a long history (it has been a reservoir for more than 2000 years in the 1970s, but it is still under the river. The Neolithic cultural relics were discovered only in Wuhe. It is said that more than 2000 years ago, Qin Shihuang ordered Qin General Zhao Tuo to pacify Baiyue (South Vietnam). His counselors surveyed the mountains (Longxing mountain, Longxue mountain, Longchi) from Ruijin of Jiangxi Province to Yanxia of Longchuan Zhao Tuo decided that this place was the place of King Xing. He adopted the advice of "sitting under the rock, embracing Longchuan, and winning Baiyue." In the end, he became the "king of Nanyue" of the princes. there is also a popular argument among the people that the location of Longchuan County seat (county seat) is "Tuocheng" and "Yanxia".
Legend of the dispute between Tuocheng and Yanxia
In the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty, Zhao Tuo accepted the imperial edict of Qin Dynasty as the site of the county government (county seat). Zhao Tuo mobilized officials and squires to brainstorm ideas and investigate the mountains and rivers (Fengshui). Officials and squires were divided into two groups. One group chose Yanzhen, Yanzhen (Yanxia), which is the main reservoir area of Fengshuba. The area is more than 10 square kilometers, and the river is open "In the north of the county, there was the mountain of Dragon Cave, and in Shun, there were five colored dragons, who went in and out of the cave by the cloud," he wrote The source of Dongjiang River passes through the cave here, hence the name of the county, which is the dragon vein of "Longchuan", the leading place of Longxue mountain (50 kilometers from Yanzhen to Shangping), the geomantic treasure land, the strategic key place of the fast passage (waterway) from Central Plains to South Vietnam, and the place of Wuhe fortress. On one side, Tuo city is chosen. Tuo city is close to mountains and rivers, with open land, back to Wushan and facing Dongjiang River. Water transportation is convenient. There is Languan dangerous road in the East and Wuhe (Fengshuba) fortress barrier in the north. Zhao Tuo, a resourceful and equal opponent of the two factions, knew that it was difficult for such a dispute to come to an end. In order to take the overall situation into consideration and unite the officials and squires, Zhao Tuo said, "there is no need to argue any more. You (Yanzhen and Tuocheng) have to dig a bucket of soil to weigh it. The weight of soil in which place (in ancient times) means that this place is precious and precious )We all agree that the method of "valuing the land" is very good. After three days of weighing, Tuocheng side intended to take a bucket of soil from tieliao (with iron excrement, of course heavy). After weighing, it was more than half a Jin heavier than that of Yanzhen. Zhao Tuo immediately announced: "after weighing, Tuocheng's soil is heavy. The county government is built in Tuocheng.". Yanzhen was a place for military strategists in the past dynasties. Zhao Jinfu, general of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, led his troops to retreat to yanxiaxu, which was surrounded by the Qing army and completely destroyed. In the fourth year of tongzhi (1865), the Qing army led hundreds of thousands of troops to the upper half of Longchuan County, where they were stationed in yanxiaxu. Yanzhen is an important business town in the past dynasties. It is the trade throat of water and land between Guangdong and Jiangxi, with convenient water and land transportation. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Yanxia (town) was an important port for water transportation between Guangdong and Jiangxi (guanyanzibu and bingka were set up by the government); there were nine main roads in Longchuan County, among which two roads passed through Yanxia (town), one was 40 kilometers from Yanzhen to Yuantian via Jingkou, Wuhe and Chiguang; the other was Laolong via Shierpai, Damiao, yonghewei, daqiuyao, qiantou, Wuhe and Yanzhen to Mazhou Bugang is 97.5 km. Businessmen from Fujian, Guangzhou, Dapu, Xingning, Huiyang and other places gathered one after another to invest in business. After the late Qing Dynasty, with the development of waterway, the business center moved up to Beiling, but Yanzhen still maintained a prosperous scene (more than 150 shops and various business names). During the period of the Republic of China, it was one of the five major market towns in Longchuan (Laolong, Tuocheng, Heshi, Yanzhen and Beiling). After liberation, with the opening of roads, especially the construction of Fengshuba reservoir in 1970, yanxiaxu (old Yan town), the center of Yanzhen, became the main lake area of Qinglong Lake (Fengshuba reservoir). The town government moved to niuxingao, Liancheng, and one third of the population moved to BOLUO, Huiyang, Dongguan, Shenzhen and other places. The former prosperity disappeared.
