Xiashuai Zhuang and Yao township is one of the seven ethnic townships in Guangdong Province, and the only ethnic township in Zhaoqing City. It is located in the northwest border of HUAIJI County, Zhaoqing City, 57 kilometers away from the county seat. The whole process is cement road, close to Lianshan Zhuang and Yao Autonomous County of Qingyuan City and Hezhou City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is the junction of Zhuang, Yao and Han nationalities. Total population 11623 (2016)

In 2019, Xiashuai township of Zhuang and Yao nationalities was selected into the list of forest towns in Guangdong Province. And selected in the first batch of "Guangdong tourism town".

Xiashuai Zhuang and Yao township is located in the northwest of Guangdong Province, which is connected with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It has many mountains, few land, fertile land, lush mountain forests, abundant water resources, various local products and rich resources. It has convenient communication and transportation. Xiashuai township health center is located at the former site of Xiashuai Township Forest Industry Station. For the construction project of the living area of the school for nationalities, special planning should be made, project funds should be implemented, and 9.48 mu of construction land should be obtained. Xiashuai township is rich in water resources. Six hydropower stations have been built in the township, including two foreign-funded ones, with a total installed capacity of 1880 kW and an annual power generation of 6 million KW. Xiashuai Township plans to invite investment to build Dongxi power station. The total investment of the project is 2.8 million yuan, the designed installed capacity is 500 kW, the annual power generation capacity is more than 2.5 million kwh, and the annual income can reach 900000 yuan.

Xiashuai township is one of the Seven Minority townships in the province and the only minority Township in Zhaoqing City. Hongxiawan resort is located in Xiashuai Zhuang Yao Township in the north of HUAIJI County, more than 40 kilometers away from the county seat. From March 28 to 30, 1987, the Eighth National People's Congress of Xiashuai was held, which implemented the policy of removing districts and building townships.
