Dahaituo Township, belonging to Chicheng County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is located in the southwest of Chicheng County, adjacent to diao'e town in the East, Yanqing County in Beijing in the southeast, Huailai County in the southwest, Xuanhua District in the west, tianjiayao town in the north, 35 kilometers away from the people's government of Chicheng County, with a total area of 264.13 square kilometers.
In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Dahaituo Township belonged to Longguan County; in 1984, Dahaituo commune was changed into Dahaituo township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Hai Tuo township was 10000. As of June 2020, the township has 32 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is located in dongshanmiao village.

In 1914, haidatuo Township belonged to Longguan county.
In 1953, Dongshan Temple Township was established.
In 1958, Dahaituo commune was established.

In 1968, dongshanmiao commune was renamed Dahaituo commune.
In 1984, Dahaituo commune was changed into Dahaituo township.
In 1996, shangdouying township was merged into dahaiduo township.
