Xixiang Street

Xixiang street, belonging to Bao'an District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southwest of Bao'an District, connecting Shiyan street in the East, Xin'an street in the south, Pearl River port in the West and Hangcheng street in the north, covering an area of 58.55 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 481 thousand and 700 residents of Xixiang street had registered residence, 181 thousand and 800 of whom had household registration. As of June 2020, Xixiang street has 25 communities under its jurisdiction.

Xixiang street has unique location advantages, rich ecological land resources and coastal coastline, which is the core area of building Baoan into a modern and international coastal city. Historical evolution

In history, the name of Xixiang administrative region was changed many times. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the name of Xixiang administrative region was changed frequently.

In October 1949, it was called Xixiang Lianxiang.

At the beginning of 1950, it was called xigulian township.

In April 1950, it merged with nantoulian Township and shahelian township to form the first district of Bao'an county.

In October 1952, Nantou and Shahe were divided into another group of Baowu District, while Xixiang was still Baoyi district.

In April 1953, Fu, Nantou and Shahe merged to form Baowu district.

In July 1953, it was separated from Baowu district and merged with Fuyong township to form Baoyi district.

In the autumn of 1955, Baoyi district was renamed Fuyong district.

At the beginning of 1957, Fuyong district was merged into Shangnan district.

In March 1958, when the district was withdrawn and the township was set up, Xixiang was formed independently.

In October 1958, it merged with Shekou Township and Nantou township to form Chaoying people's commune.

In January 1959, Chaoying people's commune was divided into two parts: Xihai aquatic products people's Commune and Nantou people's commune. Xixiang belongs to Nantou people's commune.

In April 1959, Xihai aquatic products people's Commune and Nantou people's commune merged into Nantou commune.

In July 1961, Xixiang people's commune was established under Nantou district.

In March 1982, the people's commune system was abolished and Xixiang people's commune was renamed Xixiang township.

In July 1983, it was renamed Xixiang district.

In April 1985, Xixiang district and Baoan county were merged to form Xin'an town.

On January 15, 1994, Xin'an town was abolished, and Xin'an sub district office was set up in the former Bao'an urban area, and Xixiang town was set up in the former Xixiang District, which is under the jurisdiction of Bao'an District.

On July 1, 2004, the town was changed into Xixiang street, which is still under the jurisdiction of Bao'an District.
