He once wrote such a record: "a city is like a fight There are no more than 30 families in the city, but there are still many vegetable gardens It is so desolate that... " More than 40 city houses were destroyed. "There is no market in the city, no property in the countryside, no play of jade and silk, no entertainment of silent color, no trouble of lawsuit and prison, no disturbance of soldiers, horses, postilions and passengers The land is barren and the people are in great difficulty.
In the early period of the Republic of China (1912-1921), urban and rural communication still relied on shoulder carrying, trekking on foot, sometimes by boat, down the nanshai River, and then to all parts of the country. In 1932, Shaoguan Ruyuan highway was opened to traffic. Sometimes a truck started by burning charcoal carried passengers (goods) to Shaoguan from time to time. The fare was high and the passengers were few. In the 30 years of the Republic of China, the Shaoru railway was built to Lianxian county and Guangxi, and the number of vehicles was increased. In the 34th year of the Republic of China, most of the roads and bridges were destroyed by the aircraft of the Japanese invading army, so that cars could not pass.
