Buchou Township
Buchou township is located in the south of Huayuan County, 44 kilometers away from the county. With an area of 84.3 square kilometers and a population of 14117 (in 2017), it is a Miao inhabited township. The township government is stationed at the outpost. Yayou to Huayuan highway through this, there are shuttle bus to and from the county. It has jurisdiction over 14 village committees, namely, Dashao, Zhuangshang, Migou, buchou, Daka, Daben, Hexing, Paidang, Dongshao, Jijiu, Dalong, Jufu, Niujiao and Taozi. Agricultural production of rice, tobacco, corn, beans.
General situation
Buchou township is located in the south corner of Huayuan County, bordering Aizhai town of Jishou City in the East, Miliang Township and Liubo township of Fenghuang County in the south, Panshi town of Guizhou Province in the West and Jiwei town of Huayuan County in the north. It covers an area of 84.3 square kilometers and has beautiful scenery of DALONGDONG scenic spot. The township governs 14 villages, 103 villager groups and 14117 people (in 2017), with a cultivated area of 13900 mu, including 7988 mu of paddy field and 5912 mu of dry soil. The territory is rich in forest resources. There are 800 mu of Liangchahe forest farm, more than 5000 mu of land for conversion to forest and barren mountain replanting, with a forest coverage rate of 65%. There are 3 hydroelectric power stations with a total installed capacity of 2650 kW.
Honors
In 2010, buchou Township won the honorary titles of "advanced unit of comprehensive management of the whole county", "advanced unit of tobacco production of the whole county in 2009", "advanced township of safety production in 2009" and "advanced grassroots Party committee".
History of construction
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to paida township. In 1950, it was established as a three district office. In 1958, Xianfeng commune was established. In 1959, it was changed to buchou commune. In 1984, it was withdrawn to restore the township. It is said that the ancestors of the Miao people agreed to establish a genealogy based on their surnames here, and got the name lipupo, which is called bigoulipu in Miao language. The sentry was set up in the Qing Dynasty, so it has its present name.
