Zoumajie town is located in the northwest of Shuangfeng County, Hunan Province, with a total area of 108.18 square kilometers (2017). It has jurisdiction over 70 villages, one neighborhood committee and 71094 people (2017). There are 3000 hectares of cultivated land, including 2667 hectares of paddy fields. In 1993, it was named "mass culture (peasant painting) art town" by Hunan Provincial Department of culture. It was built in 1994 by withdrawing the township of Longtian township. It borders Yongfeng town and zimenqiao town in the East, Yintang town in the south, Gantang town and Hongshandian town in the west, and Shexingshan town in the north.

The origin of place names

Zoumajie town was built from Longtian Township in 1994. Zouma street, a place name, is legendary and poetic. It is said that the emperor Zhengde of Ming Dynasty visited Jiangnan in Weifu. Historical evolution

In 1696, zoumajie town was a part of Tongde 25th capital of Mudao Township in Xiangxiang county and Changfeng 33rd capital of Lele Township in Qing Dynasty. During the period of the Republic of China, zoumajie town was a part of the Sixth District, Detian Township, and the seventh district, Changfeng Township, Xiangxiang county. When the people's Republic of China was founded, zoumajie town belonged to the working group of Detian Township in the Sixth District and Changfeng Township in the seventh district of Xiangxiang county. In 1950, zoumajie town was divided into three townships: Longtian, Datang, gaochong, Yintian, jinbeng, YANGCHONG and Zhetang in the Sixth District of Xiangxiang County, and Bainan Township in the seventh district.
