Historical evolution

The town government is located in Linkou village, where lingangzhai was established in the sixth year of Yuanfeng (1083) of the Song Dynasty, and Lingang county was established in the fifth year of Chongning (1106), under the leadership of Yang Zaixing, a local official, under the jurisdiction of Wugang army. In the thirtieth year of Shaoxing in Song Dynasty (1160), it fell back to Zhai. In the eighth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1375), the Department of Linkou was set up. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Shiyan township of Suining County. In 1951, it was designated as the Sixth District government. Linkou Township was set up in 1956. In 1958, Linkou commune was built together with Xiaxiang and mujiao. In 1961, Xiaxiang and mujiao separated out. In 1984, it was changed to township. In 1986, it was withdrawn to build town. In 2015, mujiao and Xiaxiang two townships and Linkou one town formed a system and Wanfoshan town was established.
