Baotian Dong and Miao township is located in the northwest of Huitong County, Lianping town in the southeast, Langjiang town and Mobin Dong and Miao Township in the southwest, Tuokou town in Hongjiang City in the northwest and Ma'an town in the northeast. The terrain in the territory is high in the South and low in the north, with undulating mountains and crisscross valleys. The average altitude is nearly 500 meters, and the highest peak, yanyingpo, is 840 meters above sea level. Historical evolution
In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, the township belonged to Xinbao Township, and in the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to the third district, with jurisdiction over three townships, namely Miaozhai, Baotian and Shanjiao. In May 1956, Baotian township was established by withdrawing the district and merging the township. In 1958, Baotian people's commune was jointly established by 10 senior communes. In April 1984, the people's commune system was completely abolished and the system of Baotian township was restored. On October 30, 1997, with the approval of the provincial people's government, Baotian township was abolished and Baotian Dong and Miao township was established. In September 1998, a grand celebration of the listing of ethnic townships was held. The organic District, community and township are all located in Baotian village.

There are three production lines for green tea, broken black tea, roasted green Maojian and flat tea, more than 30 sets of machinery and equipment, and the annual processing capacity is more than 100 tons. The registered brand "Qingbao" tea won the "famous and excellent tea Gold Award" in Hunan Tea Expo from 1991 to 1993, and "Huitong Chunhao" was rated as the provincial high-quality product for three consecutive years from 1995 to 1997. Because of its unique chestnut flavor, it has always been the characteristic tea product of Huaihua city.

The tap water construction project started in 2003 and was completed in August 2005. Social development
There is a junior middle school, a primary school and seven village primary schools in the township. Junior high school has set up 8 teaching offices, with more than 300 students, 23 teaching staff and 22 full-time teachers; primary school has 20 teaching classes, with more than 400 students, 35 teaching staff and 33 full-time teachers. In 2003, more than 300000 yuan was raised to build the teaching building of Baotian middle school. In the same year, nanmu village primary school received 8000 yuan from the superior to build the basketball court, wall and repair the school buildings. In 2005, 2000 yuan was raised to repair the wall and toilet of Miaozhai primary school. 2000 yuan was raised to repair the school buildings and playground of Sanxi village primary school, and the educational environment was improved.
