Wanjing town

Wanjing town is located in the southeast of Ningyuan County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, 23 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Lanshan County in the East, Jiuyi Yao Township in the south, Shuishi town in the West and Lengshui town in the north. The town government is located in Xiaguan village, with jurisdiction over 29 villages including pengjiadong, luting, Wanjing, Hecheng, Qiaotou, huanghuayuan, shipojiao, Duoshan, Fengshou, dalingwei, jiuanbei, Tianxin, Zhoujiaba, dongantou, sigongtang, baishuiyuan, Meiziwo, xiazhaigang, majiaodong, xinwuru, zhuangyuanlou, Lingjiang, Xiaguan, dawudi, yangtiling, shuishangdong, Shaoshui, qingshanwei and Yaojia He wan Jing has a neighborhood committee.

On November 21, 2019, it was selected into the list of the third batch of national "anti pornography and anti illegal" grassroots demonstration sites.

In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Wanjing town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.

Name and origin

The town uses the natural place name of Wanjing. Established in 1950, the district has been divided into two districts since then, three districts in 1952 and Wanjing District in 1951, with jurisdiction over five townships and one forest farm, namely Wanjing, Xiaguan, Maidi, Luguan and Jiuyi. In 1985, Wanjing town was built. In 1995, Wanjing town and Xiaguan Township were merged into Wanjing town.

It was settled in the Song Dynasty. Fengdu once sent troops to guard it, so it was named yonganying. Later, it was named Wanjing after the shape of a well.
