Sankoutang Town, belonging to Qiyang City, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, is located in the southwest of the central part of Qiyang City, 24 kilometers away from Qiyang city. It is adjacent to Guanyintan town in the East, Dazhongqiao town in the south, Lengshuitan District in the West and Maozhu town in the north. The natural place name of sankoutang town is still used. At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Dazhongqiao District, which was divided into seven townships: Baotou, nanmu, Shangchun, Lilin, Zhiping, Shihu and Shangma. In 1961, it was divided into three communes: Shangma, Lilin and sankotang. In 1986, it was divided into Shangma Township and sankoutang township. In 1995, the 11 villages of sankoutang Township and Shangma Township in Dazhongqiao district were merged into sankoutang town.
