Niujiaoba town

Niujiaoba town is located in the north of Lengshuitan District, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. The people's Government of niujiaoba town is 19 kilometers away from Lengshuitan city. It is adjacent to puliqiao town in the East and North, Gaoxi town in the south, LuHong town and duanqiaopu town in Dong'an County in the West. 278 villager groups, 26670 people (2017), population density of 308 people / km2, labor force of 18500, cultivated land area of 35571.15 mu, forestry area of 65467 mu.

Historical evolution

The town was named after niujiaoba Town, where it was originally located. Because the Shixi River, which originated at the foot of Siming Mountain, flows into the territory, and the predecessors dammed the river at the bend of the river. At the beginning of liberation, the town was divided into three townships: Yangsi temple, Xiaji temple and Zhuxi city. After liberation, it was niujiaowei Township, which was merged into niujiaoba Township in 1956. When the people's commune was established in 1958, niujiaoba and niujiaowei were under the jurisdiction of puliqiao district. Niujiaoba and niujiaowei communes were established in 1961. In 1984, it was changed into niujiaoba Township and niujiaowei Township, under the jurisdiction of puliqiao district. In 1995, niujiaoba and niujiaowei were merged into niujiaoba town.
