Xinfeng Town
Xinfeng Town, formerly known as Xinfeng Town, also known as Xindu temple, is a key town in Jiangsu Province. It belongs to Dantu District of Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the southeast of Dantu District, adjacent to Dinggang town of Zhenjiang New District in the East, Danyang Economic Development Zone in the South, Guyang town in the West and Jianbi town of Jingkou District in the north. The total area of the township is 79.42 square kilometers (2017), which has 15 administrative villages and 1 communities, with 50248 registered residence population (2017).
Xinfeng Town is one of the "top ten towns" in Zhenjiang's economic development, and one of the five major economic sectors in Dantu District. With bearing, textile, electronics and brush as the leading products, Xinfeng Town is equipped with new characteristic tourism industry, with a GDP of 3.712 billion yuan.
There are many famous scenic spots in Xinfeng Town, such as Leng Yu's former residence, Dasheng temple, Yin's six rooms, Longshan Egret Island and so on. It is an ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River with a history of more than 2500 years. It is also the hometown of Dai Anbang, a famous chemist and Mr. Leng Yu, a patriot and Democrat.
History of construction
During the Neolithic period, there were people living here.
In the spring and Autumn period, it was a village of Zhu Fang, formerly known as Xinfeng. In the Qin Dynasty, there was a market, belonging to Dantu County. At the end of Qin Dynasty and the beginning of Han Dynasty, a large number of merchant gentry and dignitaries began to migrate. After Zhao houxinyi of South Korea settled here in the spring and Autumn period, he "set up four thousand mu thatched cottages and rafters". It can be seen that the agricultural economy of Xinfeng had a considerable scale at that time.
Xinfengtang (Lake) was built in 321, the fourth year of Daxing in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
In the Sui Dynasty, the Grand Canal ran through the north and south, and became a distribution center of agricultural and sideline products.
In the Tang Dynasty, Xinfeng was called the city.
In the Song Dynasty, xinyoufeng set up a town with postal service and post station, belonging to Chongde Township, and its suburb was xinfengli, Chongde township.
Qing Guangxu three years (1877) set up Xinfeng Township, in Xinfeng Town.
In 1929, the fourth autonomous region of Zhenjiang county was established in Xinfeng Town.
On April 23, 1949, the people's Government of Dantu County was set up in Xinfeng. The people's Government of Xinfeng district (in Jianbi town) and Xinfeng people's Government under the jurisdiction of the county were established at the same time. Xinfeng was renamed Xinfeng from then on.

In 1929, the organic law of the county was implemented, and Xinfeng Town of the fourth autonomous region was established. On December 8, 1937, the Japanese invaded Xinfeng Town and established the puppet maintenance Council.
On July 6, 1938, the original five townships were restored. Xinfeng Township governs eight administrative villages: Xinfeng, Huangxu, Xinmin, Shanbei, Zhongxin, Yunan, Weimin and Huangni.
In 1940, the puppet district office moved to Jianbi.
In January 1941, five townships were rebuilt into 25 townships.
In May 1946, the fourth autonomous region changed its name to Xinfeng District Office, changing 25 townships to 15 townships, namely Xinfeng, Jianbi, Dantu, Shengli, Boai, Decheng, Heping, Minyou, Datong, Hubin, Huangxu, Minzhi, Weimin, Xinmin and Huasheng. The total number of townships is 161 and 1625.
In April 1948, 15 townships were changed into 8 townships, namely Xinfeng, Jianbi, Dantu, Huangxu, Sanmin, Yude, Yucheng and zhaze, with a total of 81 townships and 1214a. Xinfeng Town governs 12 Bao and 186 Jia.
Zhenjiang was liberated on April 23, 1949. On April 24, the people's Government of Xinfeng district and the people's Government of Xinfeng Town under the county were established at the same time. Xinfeng Town was renamed Xinfeng Town from then on. On the 25th, the people's Government of Dantu County was stationed in Xinfeng Town. In June, the county government moved to Zhenjiang City, and Xinfeng district was divided into zhizaze district. Xinfeng district government moved from Jianbi to Xinfeng Town, with jurisdiction over Xinfeng Town, Minzhi Township, Xingqi Township, Desheng Township, Huangxu Township, Shanbei Township, Zhongxin Township, Longshan Township, Yunan Township, Huangni Township, Nangang Township, Sanshan Township and Hubin township. Under the township set up the administrative village to abolish Baojia. Xinfeng Town has nine administrative villages: Dongyi, Donger, Dongsan, Jifeng, Wangxie, Xiajia, caiwuwang, renhexiao and jiangjiazhuang.
On April 6, 1956, Xinfeng district and zaze district were merged into Jianbi District, and Xinfeng, Nangang and Yunan townships were merged into Xinfeng township.
On August 17, 1957, Sanshan township was merged into Xinfeng township.
In July 1958, Dantu County merged with Zhenjiang city. On September 23, Xinfeng, Huangxu and Shicheng townships merged to form Xinfeng people's commune in Zhenjiang city. The commune was divided into 10 production teams (battalions) and 91 production teams (companies).
On April 4, 1959, Xinfeng commune was divided into Shicheng commune (later renamed Sanshan commune), and the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth brigades were assigned to Shicheng commune. On May 3 of the same year, Huangxu commune was divided into three groups. The first, second and third groups were assigned to Huangxu commune. In October of that year, 21 natural villages in Shicheng commune, including zhuangqian, Dongshi, Xishi, Xiaxia and Yanjie, were assigned to Xinfeng commune. Jiangjiadun, Xiaohu village, Donghu village and chijiaba natural village under Xinfeng commune belong to Shicheng commune. After the adjustment, Xinfeng commune has 16 brigades under its jurisdiction: Jinhu, Yunan, Dongbiao, Jifeng, Xinfeng, Xiajia, Nangang, Tuanjie, Huangni, huma, Wuxing, zhuangquan, Dongshi, Xishi, Yanjie and Xiaxia.
In May 1962, Dantu County was restored. On April 5, 1963, a small commune was set up. Xinfeng District Office was located in Xinfeng Town. It had jurisdiction over the original Xinfeng commune, Huangxu commune and Sanshan commune, and was converted into 14 small communes, namely Shanbei commune, Heda commune, Huangxu commune, Beiyu commune, Yunan commune, Xinfeng commune, Nangang commune, Huangni commune, Hubin commune, Sanshan commune, Dongjie commune, Shicheng commune, Xuzhuang commune and Yucheng commune. Xinfeng commune has four brigades: Xinfeng, Jifeng, Wuxing and Xiajia.
In September 1965, Yucheng commune was renamed Sanshan commune, Sanshan commune was renamed Huacun commune, and Yunan commune was renamed Yunan commune. In April 1968, Xinfeng District Revolutionary Committee was established.
On May 15, 1969, the former commune system was restored. Xinfeng people's commune is under the jurisdiction of 14 brigades, namely, Nan, Dongbiao, Xinfeng, Wuxing, Huangni, Nangang, huma, Tuanjie, Yuejin, Huacun, Xiaxia, Dongjie, Dongshi and Xishi.
On February 26, 1975, the East Street brigade was divided into three groups: Xudong, Yanjie and upstream.
On November 26, 1976, Xiaozhuang and Hejia natural villages with five-star teams were set up to establish Xinfeng commune breeding farm.
In April 1981, the Revolutionary Committee of Xinfeng commune was changed into the Management Committee of Xinfeng commune. Yunan brigade was divided into two brigades, Yunan and Jinhu
The brigade is divided into three groups: Xiaxia, Sanwei and Kaiyi. On May 10 of the same year, Huacun was divided into Huacun and Sanshan.
On March 10, 1982, Xinfeng brigade was divided into Xinfeng brigade and Jifeng brigade. In April of the same year, the five-star brigade was renamed Xinqiao brigade; the upstream brigade was renamed Suyou brigade; the Tuanjie brigade was renamed Weicun brigade; and the Yuejin brigade was renamed zhuangquan brigade.
On July 15, 1983, the Township People's government, villagers' committee and villagers' group were established, and the commune management committee, production brigade and production team were abolished.
In 1984, Sanshan village committee was renamed Zhongwei village committee.
On May 7, 1987, the Township People's government was changed into the town people's government, implementing the new system of town governing village.
On September 16, 1988, Xinqiao villagers' committee was divided into Xiajia villagers' committee, the improved variety farm of the commune was abolished, and the jurisdiction was merged into Xinqiao villagers' committee.
In 1990, the town set up a town residents committee, 22 villagers' committees, namely Dongbiao, Yunan, Jinhu, Jifeng, Xinfeng, Xinqiao, Xiajia, Nangang, Weicun, huma, Huangni, zhuangquan, Huacun, Zhongwei, Xudong, Suyou, Xiaxia, Kaiyi, Sanwei, Yanjie, Dongshi, Xishi villagers' committees and 225 villagers' groups.
In December 2005, the former Xinfeng Town and Huangxu town merged to form Xinfeng Town.
