Le'anpu Miao and Dong Township, Suining County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, is located in the southwest of Suining County. It is adjacent to the Miao and Dong townships and huangshangping Miao townships in the city in the East, Tongdao Dong Autonomous County in the south, Dongshan Dong Township in the north and Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County in the West. Provincial highways S221 and s319 meet in the territory, with convenient transportation and obvious location advantages. With a total area of 105.15 square kilometers, the township governs 11 villages, including Le'an, Darong, Lianfeng, Yangliu, Zhongxin, Tiantang, duolong, Datuan, Wayao, huangjiashui and Wenjiang, and 77 villager groups, with a total of 2528 households and 10088 people. The origin of place names
In ancient times, le'anpu was called "falling wild geese", so it was named because of its brilliant mountain flowers, towering ancient trees and beautiful scenery. There are also historical records that in ancient times, when the "Luoyue" tribe originated from "Wuxi" fled, some of them originated from "xiongxi" and fled to Le'an. Seeing the pleasant climate, they settled down and stopped running around. They named it "luo'an", which means that the Luoyue people live in peace and contentment, and later homonymous "Le'an", which means that they live and work in peace and contentment. Up to now, there are still primitive tribal sites in the paradise scenic area. As the place is located on the ancient road leading to Guangxi and Guizhou, it has always been frequented by pedestrians, with shops and people living and working in peace and contentment. Guests from the East and West can have enough rest and sleep, hunger and drink, so it is named "le'anpu". Le'anpu is connected with tiantangpu, lianfengpu, dalingpu, Shilipu and Changpu in the county, becoming an important part of the "Silk Road" in Hunan, Guangxi and Guizhou. The ancient business road paved with bluestone slabs is still clearly visible. Because of its special geographical location, Le'an has been a place for military strategists since ancient times. Legends about the red tourist scenic spot and the tomb of Li Zongren's grandfather are still circulating today. During the warlord war, Le'an was once a place for Xiang and GUI warlords to fight. During the long march of the red army, there were many battles with local reactionary forces, and the old fort and trench were still preserved in the territory.
Evolution of organizational system
At the end of the Republic of China, most of them belonged to Shanxi Township, while a small part belonged to Zaisheng town and Shiyan township. In November 1950, Tiantang, duolong, le'anpu, Wenjiang and other village farmers' associations were established under the people's Government of the first district and the people's Government of the seventh district (later changed to the Tenth District). In 1952, the peasant association was changed into a small township, and in 1955, Wangjiazhuang township was added. In April 1956, six small townships such as Tiantang and Wangjiazhuang merged into Xihe Township, and four small townships such as le'anpu and Wenjiang merged into le'anpu township. In September 1958, Xihe Township and huangsangping Township were jointly established as the people's commune of Zaishan City, and four townships including le'anpu and Dongshan were jointly established as the people's commune of Dongshan city. In May 1961, Zheshi commune was divided into Zheshi commune and huangshangping commune; Dongshan commune was divided into Dongshan commune, egong commune and Chaoyi commune; in September 1961, Zheshi commune was divided into Zheshi commune and Lianfeng commune; Dongshan commune was divided into Dongshan commune and leanpu commune. In February 1966, le'anpu commune was incorporated into Lianfeng commune. In 1982, Lianfeng commune changed its name to le'anpu commune. In June 1984, it was transformed into two townships, le'anpu and Lianfeng. In January 1985, it was changed into nationality townships. In October 1995, the two townships were merged into Miao and Dong townships in le'anpu, which is still in use today.
