Xuanpingbao Township, belonging to Wanquan District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is located in the east of Wanquan District, adjacent to shenjiatun town in the East, kongjiazhuang town in the South and Wanquan town in the West and North. In August 1958, xuanpingbao township was divided into kongjiazhuang commune and Wanquan commune.
In July 1961, xuanpingbao commune was established from kongjiazhuang commune and Wanquan commune.
In March 1984, xuanpingbao commune was changed into xuanpingbao township.
