Sulfur town
Liushi Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Hengnan County, Hengyang City, Hunan Province, is located in the middle of Hengnan County, adjacent to Chejiang town in the East, Lijiang town in the south, Maoshi town in the West and Jiaozhou town in the north, with an administrative area of 123.49 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the city was 46780.
In June 1961, it was divided into district branches. In 1984, the commune was withdrawn and townships were established, including Gushan Township, Yushi town and Longhe township. In May 1995, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and the original sulfur Town, Gushan Township and Longhe Township were merged into sulfur town. As of June 2020, sulfur town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 20 administrative villages.
In 2010, the national tax and local tax of sulfur town were 180000 yuan and 4.8 million yuan respectively, with a total of 4.33 million yuan over fulfilled. In 2018, there were 2 industrial enterprises and 7 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in sulfur town.
History of construction
Before 1949, it was called Fuxiang.
From 1949 to 1951, it belonged to the 11th district of Hengyang County.
In July 1952, it belongs to the Ninth District of Hengnan County.
In June 1955, it was renamed sulfur city.
In May 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. The sulfur city was divided into three townships: sulfur City, Gushan and Longhe.
In June 1961, it was divided into district branches.
