Yisuhe town

Yisuhe Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Xiangtan County, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, is located on the South Bank of Xiangjiang River in Xiangtan city. With a total area of 212.408 square kilometers (urban area of 23 square kilometers, beautiful rural demonstration film of 19.5 square kilometers, Tianyi Economic Development Zone Planning and construction area of 99 square kilometers), and a total population of about 240000 people (in 2019), it governs 31 villages and 13 community neighborhood committees.

Historical evolution

In ancient times, Luokou was an important town in the south of the Yangtze River. In 749, it was established as a county government. During the Five Dynasties, Ma, yin and Chu set up field officials here to supervise trade. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it became one of the four major rice markets in China. From the Song Dynasty, the county government was set up in Xiangtan Guanxiang gate. After liberation, Xiangtan city was founded in the county seat, and Xiangtan County has no city since then.

Yisuhe town was founded in 1950. In May 1960, Xiangtan city implemented the system of urban people's Commune and established the juanjiang urban people's commune. Yisuhe town was under the jurisdiction of this commune.

In March 1961, the people's commune of juanjiang city was abolished. In August 1961, Yisuhe town was restored to a county town.

In the 1980s, the county people's government planned to build a new County in Yisuhe town.

In April 1991, it began to apply to the municipal, provincial and State Council.

On June 25, 1992, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the relocation of the people's Government of Xiangtan county to Yisuhe Town, and the relocation funds should be settled by the county itself. The people of Xiangtan County were jubilant after hearing the news. In August, 100000 militiamen and more than 500 machines went to the construction site to level the land and build the main roads, which started the construction of the county.

On September 8, 1992, a grand foundation laying ceremony was held. The county people's government formulates preferential policies for attracting investment and adopts various forms to extensively attract investment. By the end of the year, more than 200 million yuan of funds had been introduced to raise the start-up funds for the construction of the new county.

In November 1992, Yisuhe was merged with Shangma township.

On November 18, 1992, the System Reform Commission of Hunan Province determined Yisuhe Economic Development Zone as a key economic development zone. After more than three years of hard work, a new county has sprung up on the South Bank of Xiangjiang River.

In August 1993, Yisuhe town was again classified as Yisuhe town.

On September 28, 1995, the county government relocation ceremony solemnly announced that Xiangtan County has ended its 45 year history of having a county without a city, realizing the people's dream for many years.

In November 2015, according to the township zoning adjustment plan of Xiangtan County, meilinqiao town and Yisuhe town formed a system and merged to establish Yisuhe town.

In July 1995, Baihua village and zhaojiazhou village were abolished, and three neighborhood committees of yizuizhou, zhengtaiping and Xiangjiang were merged into one. The newly established six neighborhood committees are Baihua, Nantang, fufuge, zhaojiazhou, wujiaxiang and fengxingshan. In addition, the original six neighborhood committees are Xiangjiang Road, Yanjing, Chengtang, niutouling, Huaguoshan and Shuishang. Luokou ancient town

Luokou ancient town is located in Yishuhe Town, the seat of Xiangtan County. Xiangtan County was located in this town from the eighth year of Tianbao in Tang Dynasty to the Southern Song Dynasty.
