Chenhu town
Chenhu town is an important town in the southwest of Hanchuan. Since the reform and opening up in 1980, Fuxing Group, led by Tan Gongyan, has responded to the call of the party and the government, led by village run enterprises and with unremitting entrepreneurial spirit, developed village run enterprises into top 500 listed enterprises in Hubei Province and even the whole country, and built Fuxing village from a poor village in remote areas into Hanchuan and even the whole river In 2021, the urban area of Chenhu town is based on the basic planning of Fuxing village. In 2005, because Fuxing Village entered a period of rapid development, the town government moved from liujiazhou village to Fuxing village.
Chenhu town faces Xiantao City across the river in the South and Tianmen City in the west, with convenient transportation. It is adjacent to Tianmen South Station of Shanghai Hanrong high speed railway, 90 km away from Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, 40 km away from Hanchuan exit of Wujing expressway, and 18 km away from Xiantao exit of Yihuang expressway. Wanfu port of Hanjiang River can dock 3000 DWT freighters, provincial highway 106 passes through the territory. Hanchuan Chenhu Fuxing section of 106 double track was opened to traffic in July 2016. Jianghan freight railway and Wuhan city circle high-speed outer ring line are under construction, and interchange is set up in Chenhu.
The town covers an area of 78.25 square kilometers (in 2017), with 99000 mu of arable land and a population of 63494 (in 2017). It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages and 2 neighborhood committees. The town covers an area of 10 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 48000, and the urbanization rate is 58.8%
In October 2019, Chenhu town was once again selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
On December 24, 2019, it will be included in the list of national rural governance demonstration towns.
In 2019, Fuxing village has become one of the top 100 villages and top 1000 towns in China, including 68 top 100 villages (in 2019) and 490 Top 1000 towns (in 2019)
In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Chenhu town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.
In October 2020, with the support of Hubei provincial and municipal governments, Fuxing Economic Development Zone will be established
History of construction
1、 Administrative divisions before liberation (before May 1949)
Chenhu area is a part of the ancient cloud Mengze, in the Yugong Jingzhou area. In the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period, it belonged to Yun state, a city of Chu state. In the Three Kingdoms period, it belonged to Wu state. In the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Mianyang county. In the Song Dynasty, it belonged to Mianyang, Jianli, Yusha and other counties. In the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Yusha county. It belonged to Mianyang in Ming Dynasty, Wenquan County in Mianyang Zhou in early Qing Dynasty, Mianyang County in late Qing Dynasty, Gongchen Township in Mianyang County in maiwangshang, Jiming Township in Hanchuan County in Penghu and Maji.
From 1912 to 1938, Shifu, Xiaoshi and Fuxing townships and part of Maji belonged to Xiaoshi and Maibei in the Tenth District of Mianyang, while Taohua and Penghu belonged to Chengbo in the Fifth District of Hanchuan.
In the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939-1945), Shiyao, Xiaoshi and Fuxing were under the jurisdiction of jimingchang and maiwangzui puppet regime, Taohua and Penghu were under the jurisdiction of Fenshui (Maiwang) puppet regime, and Chengbo government of the Anti Japanese democratic government of the five regions of the Tianhan Dynasty.
From 1947 to 1949, Shizhi, Xiaoshi and Fuxing were under the jurisdiction of Xianbei and Maibei townships in Donger District of Mianyang County, while Taohua and Penghu were under the jurisdiction of Chengbo Township in Hanchuan district.
2、 Administrative divisions before the establishment of the town (before September 1987)
From the second half of 1949 to the first half of 1951, Shiyao, Xiaoshi and Fuxing were under the jurisdiction of Tianlong District of Tianhan County, and Taohua and Penghu were under the jurisdiction of Chengxi District of Hanchuan county.
In the second half of 1951, Shiyao, Xiaoshi and Fuxing townships were assigned to the Fifth District of Hanchuan by Mianyang, Taohua district was also under the jurisdiction of the Fifth District of Hanchuan, and Penghu district was under the jurisdiction of the Fourth District of Hanchuan.
In 1957, Shiyao, Xiaoshi, Fuxing three townships belong to the Hanchuan Maiwang Guidance Group, Penghu district belongs to the Hanchuan water diversion Guidance Group, the guidance group consists of Shiyao, Xiaoshi, yizui, Fuxing, Liukou, Taohua, Penghu and other small townships.
From 1958 to 1959, the whole district was under the management of Dongfeng people's commune (at that time, Dongfeng people's commune also governed Erhe Town, Maiwang Town, Fenshui town and Huilong District).
In 1960, Dongfeng people's commune was changed into Maiwang people's commune, which has jurisdiction over ten administrative areas (tian'erhe Town, Maiwang town and Huilong district have been separated).
From 1961 to the first half of 1965, Maiwang commune was changed into Maiwang District, with ten small communes under its jurisdiction, including Shiyao, Xiaoshi, kuizui, Fuxing, Liukou, Taohua, Penghu, Fenshui, Boyi and Huayan.
From 1965 to 1974, ten small communes in Maiwang district were changed into seven small communes, namely Shiyao, Xiaoshi, Fuxing, Liukou, Penghu, Fenshui and Huayan.
From 1975 to 1978, Maiwang district was changed into three communes: Chenhu people's commune (including Shiyao, Xiaoshi, Fuxing and Liukou), Maiwang Town People's commune (including Maiwang town Tao: taohuapian and Liukou), Fenshui people's commune (including Penghu, Fenshui and Huayan).
From 1979 to 1982, above Liukou belonged to Chenhu people's commune. Below Taohua is Fenshui people's commune. Maiwang is a separate town. Gaofeng, Dongfeng and Yonghong villages are under the jurisdiction of Weiwang town.
During the winter solstice of 1983 and 1985, the two people's communes of Fenshui and Chenhu were abolished, and Chenhu district was established. Under its jurisdiction, eight communes, namely Shiyao, Xiaoshi, Fuxing, Maji, Penghu, Taohua, Boyi and Huayan, were set up. During the period, Penghu and Taohua were merged into Penghu township.
In November 1985, Boyi and Huayan were transferred from Chenhu district to Fenshui town. Chenhu district still has jurisdiction over Shiyao, Xiaoshi, Fuxing, Maji and Penghu.
3、 Administrative division after the establishment of the town
In September 1987, Chenhu district was changed into an established town with 17 villages in three administrative districts, namely Shiyao, Xiaoshi and Fuxing. Among them, Shiyao Administrative Region governs seven villages, namely Duke, Zhaowan, Liuke, Weijia, Shiyao, baiernu and tuqiu; Xiaoshi Administrative Region governs six villages, namely Xiaoshi, Dengta, Liuzhou, Hongfeng, yizui and Jianggong; Fuxing Administrative Region governs four villages, namely Lihua, Fuxing, Chenyuan and Laota.
In August 2001, Chenhu town abolished the three administrative areas of Shiyao, Xiaoshi and Fuxing. In May 2008, hengdang, Xianfeng, Jiajie and liutan villages of Maiwang town were included in Chenhu Town, which governs 21 villages.
In November 2008, the four villages of hengdang, Xianfeng, Jiajie and liutan were merged into Xianfeng village, and Chenhu town governs 18 villages.
In March 2010, Dongxin, Xixin and Youxin villages of Maiwang town and Huayuan village of Huilong town were under the jurisdiction of Chenhu town. Dongxin, Xixin and Youxin are merged into Xinzhou village, and Chenhu town governs 20 villages.
4. Town government
After the establishment of Chenhu town in September 1987, the Town Committee and the town government worked in the former Office of Chenhu District in wanfuji town (now known as Tengfei plastics company). In November 2001, the Chenhu base was evacuated from Chenhu, and the town government moved into the old office building (now Chenhu welfare home). In October 2007, with the development of Fuxing Development Zone, the town government moved to the new office building of Fuwan Avenue in Fuxing market town

Economics
The town has formed a metallurgical, chemical, plastic, furniture, paper and other five pillar industries. It has the largest production and export base of metal products in China and CPE and PP plastic products in central and South China. Hanchuan wire rope (Group) company has become a listed company. "Fuxing" brand steel wire and wire rope series products have become inspection free products of the national metal products testing center, and "seven fairies" brand Simmons has won the provincial and ministerial Gold Award. For four consecutive years, the town has been ranked among the top ten towns in Xiaogan City, and its comprehensive industrial economic strength has been ranked among the top 50 towns in the province.
The industrial and commercial tax revenue of Chenhu town in Hanchuan exceeded 100 million yuan. In 2007, the total industrial output value of Chenhu town reached 3.124 billion yuan, and the industrial and commercial tax revenue reached 120 million yuan, becoming the first town with industrial and commercial tax revenue exceeding 100 million yuan. Relying on the industrial advantages of Fuxing Group, Chenhu town develops supporting industries to serve the development of large-scale national enterprises. It has successively set up I-shaped wheel factory, plastic products Co., Ltd., metal structure processing plant and other enterprises. There are 350 large and small enterprises in the town, including 300 enterprises producing supporting products for Fuxing Group, and 8 enterprises have developed into Enterprises above scale. In 2007, a series of projects of Hubei Fuxing science and technology company were completed, and Hubei Huanfu company and other related enterprises were put into operation, which injected new vitality into the economic development of Chenhu town.
In 2004, the gross agricultural product was 120.37 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 3055 yuan. .
In 2012, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the town was 7.33 billion yuan, including 6 billion yuan of industrial output value above designated scale, 430 million yuan of technological transformation and capacity expansion, 1.47 billion yuan of fixed asset investment, and 42.482 million yuan of tax revenue, including 33.6 million yuan of national tax and 8.882 million yuan of local tax.
