The roads are Park Road, post and Telecommunications Street Dongshan Road, Dongyue road Liulin Road, Zhongyue road Fujian Road Shanghai road running through East and West. There are three overpasses (Dongyue Road overpass, Beijing Road overpass and Shanghai Road overpass) in Wuyan street.
Planning and construction
Wuyan Street mainly includes Hong Kong Street, Wuyan South Street, Wuyan North Street, Jiulong lane and other blocks, with a total length of about 2 km and a road area of about 25000 square meters, involving 37 units and more than 200000 residents (including 112300 permanent residents and 90000 floating population). It is the earliest and largest commercial pedestrian street in Shiyan City and even northwest Hubei. Wuyan street is spacious and bright with perfect facilities. However, before 2000, it was just a few dilapidated mud roads, crowded with hundreds of stalls, mixed with people and cars, dirty and chaotic. In 2000, the municipal Party committee and the municipal government made a solemn decision to demolish the illegal and hardened roads and open up Hong Kong Street, so that the pedestrian street could be connected from north to South and from east to west. In the past 10 years, with the transformation of the old city and commercial development, Wuyan pedestrian street has grown into a commercial district with the strongest commercial atmosphere and the largest flow of shopping people in Northwest Hubei.
However, due to the lack of congenital conditions, narrow street area, carrying a huge flow of people and traffic, the municipal facilities of Wuyan pedestrian street can not bear the heavy load, such as poor drainage, aging street lights, damaged road surface, lack of sidewalks, all kinds of motor vehicles running in disorder, which is obviously different from the social and economic development and the growing taste demand of the citizens. In 2009, in order to improve the environment of Wuyan pedestrian street, serve the "joint creation of three cities" and strengthen urban management, the municipal Party committee and municipal government once again launched the comprehensive reconstruction of Wuyan pedestrian street, demolishing nearly 1000 square meters of illegal buildings, and demolishing 520 square meters of property front houses to widen the road, with a total road area of 23000 square meters, fully dredging the drainage system, re burying drainage pipes and strengthening the air The weak cables are all put into the ground, the pavement adopts "one board" structure, and the granite stone is laid. In order to further improve the taste, the landscape street lamp, flower box, seat, fruit box and other supporting facilities are installed, with a total investment of about 13 million yuan.
In order to implement long-term management, Wuyan Street comprehensive management office was also established. The traffic police department of Shiyan City also put forward the traffic control scheme according to the current situation of the pedestrian street area. By setting stainless steel pedestrian barrier and artificial intelligence access control system at each entrance and exit of the pedestrian street, Wuyan pedestrian street bid farewell to the chaotic phenomenon of vehicles and pedestrians competing for the road.
