Manchun Road
Manchun Road, also known as Manchun street, runs north-south in Qiaokou District. It starts from the west of Youyi intersection of Zhongshan Avenue in the northwest and ends at Changdi street in the south. Chengjie street was named Manchun tea garden in the late Qing Dynasty. In the early days, Manchun street was a pool of earthen ponds. Although there were many peanut trees, grass and warblers, frogs, cicadas, mosquitoes and midges swarmed in the wilderness. In 1907 (the 33rd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu), Zhang Zhidong ordered the demolition of the city wall of Hankou. The earth and rock filled the Yudai River, which protected the city, and the surrounding tudang reservoir. When the tudang reservoir was filled up, the nearby farmers moved in. They worked as coolies or engaged in small businesses, and the area gradually took on the appearance of streets and alleys. When people are popular, there will be business opportunities. Every shop has opened, including restaurants, snack shops, cloth and satin shops, pots and pans and groceries shops. There are more and more people digging their brains: peddlers selling medicine, peddlers digging chicken's eyes, peddlers mixing crickets (to pass the day). This short street has become a bustling place .
summary
The old streets and alleys in Hankou are popular, such as Datong Street, HuoDa lane and Zhuxiang. There are also elegant ones, such as chushanli and jiqingli, but few of them are romantic and poetic. The street name of Manchun road is poetic. If the spring scenery of the whole garden can't be closed, a red apricot will come out of the wall and strip the ancient poetry into a street name.
name
If the material life is a little touch (content), the spiritual needs will be highlighted. As a result, a rich businessman from Jiangsu and Zhejiang recruited a group of artists to set up a stage at the northwest entrance of the street to sing, which was called "Jiangsu and Zhejiang Office". Before long, the "public office" was transformed into a teahouse. Entering the teahouse, it was dry and wet, and solved the stomach problem. Playing gongs, drums and pipa, it had audio-visual enjoyment. Either it was whispering, or it was blushing, or it was bargaining openly, or it was pinching fingers in the sleeve cage. By the way, it resolved the contradiction and reached a business Teahouse is really a good place to go, teahouse is really spring is not old! The spring in the teahouse is so thick that it can't be shut down. It overflows all over the street. Forget it, this street is called Manchun street! This should be the logical process of Manchun street getting its name? in the 1920s, Manchun tea garden was transformed into a drama garden, still known as "Manchun". Although it has been changed, its basic functions are still the same. The only difference is: Manchun tea garden is to eat tea while watching opera; Manchun opera garden is to eat tea before watching opera.
moral
To study the tea house culture and stage art history of our city, Manchun tea garden and Manchun opera garden have a prominent position. Unfortunately, these two gardens are gone. The former was changed by the latter, while the latter was destroyed by the war, leaving only a street name to remind us that spring is still here and full.
