Ningping town

Ningping town is located 12 kilometers east of Dancheng County, with a total area of 79.52 square kilometers, a long history and outstanding people. Ningping town is a famous historical town. According to historical records, Ningping county was set up here in the Western Han Dynasty, and Boji (Princess Ningping), sister of Emperor Guangwu's Liu Xiu, was granted land in the Eastern Han Dynasty. During the Anti Japanese War, it was the first development point of the Communist Party of China in Eastern Henan. At that time, there were 26 party members. When Liu Deng's army went south, Deng Xiaoping stayed here. General Zhang Aiping and General Li Zimu have also worked here. They have been affiliated to Dancheng county since 1951 and established as towns since 1987. Therefore, Ningping is an old revolutionary base area and a famous historical and cultural city.

Historical evolution

Ningping County in the Western Han Dynasty. in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was granted land by Boji (Princess Ningping), sister of Emperor Guangwu Liu Xiu, so it was called "Ningping". Emperor Wu of the Western Jin Dynasty (265-289) abolished Ningping County, belonging to Kuping and Wuping respectively. Kuyu and Wuping first belonged to Chen County of Yuzhou, and then merged into the state of Liang. In the fifth year of Yongjia, when Sima Yue, king of the East China Sea, was transported to the East, he passed by and was overtaken by shile's army and burned his bones, so it was also called "Linbing city". After Jin Dynasty, it changed with the change of kuxian's organizational system, belonging to Fuyang, Guyang, Zhenyuan and Weizhen. In the second year of Zhiyuan (1265), Luyi and Weizhen counties were merged into Luyi, and their administrative offices were moved to Weizhen county (now Luyi County). In May 1951, Henan Dancheng Office (county level) was set up in some districts and townships of Luyi, Huaiyang and Shenqiu. In August 1952, the Government Affairs Council officially approved the establishment of Dancheng County, and Ningping town was designated as Dancheng county. Lighthouse commune was established in 1958, renamed Ningping commune in 1965, and changed to town in 1987.

Name and origin

Ningping Town, also known as Ningping City, formerly known as Binglin City, now belongs to Dancheng county. In the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, it once belonged to Luyi County. according to records, in the early Eastern Han Dynasty, the area around binglincheng was in chaos for years, and the people were in dire straits. Princess Boji, the third sister of Emperor Guangwu, began to play the role of Emperor Guangwu: "the war is coming to the city, and the chaos is not the rebellion of thieves, but the gathering of hungry people to make a living The younger sister is willing to lead 3000 people to appease. " Emperor Guangwu asked, "is 3000 people enough?" Princess Birge replied, "that's enough, but you have to give me 100000 troops and horses." Emperor Guangwu asked, "why?" Princess Boji replied, "my sister will give the rest of the food and pay to the hungry." After Emperor Guangwu granted her request, Princess Boji led her troops to Binglin city and treated the local people with courtesy to relieve the hungry people. In the second year of Jianwu (A.D. 26), Emperor Guangwu established the capital of Luoyang, and when she was granted the title of civil and military meritorious official, Princess Boji was granted the title of Princess Ningping, and the land was granted to the city. In the sixth year of Jianwu (A.D. 30), Princess Boji died in Binglin city at the age of 32. Emperor Guangwu ordered him to be buried in the fiefdom (the tomb of Princess Ningping is still well preserved). Later generations changed the name of Binglin city to Ningping city. In April 1986, Ningping Township, subordinate to Dancheng County, was set up as a town.

Now many experts in Zhangji village who have won Zhang Mingde's unique skill of smoked chicken have opened business in Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Luoyang, Hefei and other places. Some of them have entered the first general staff of Beijing. LiMiao tofu, Yangzhai straw, Weizhuang vinegar and Ningping mattress are famous for their unique processing skills in Eastern Henan.
