Zhangtao township is located in the northeast of Xi county, bordering on Yangdian Township, Xiangdian Town, Xiazhuang Town, Xiaohui Town, Baoxin Town, Dongyue Town, baitudian Town, etc., with a total area of 101 square kilometers (2017).

Historical evolution

Zhangtao township of Xi county used to be one of the four major market towns of Xi county ("Wulin Baozhang", namely wulongji, linheji, baoxinji and zhangtaoji).
