cultural relics and historic sites
It is said that the town of Anzhou was built by the garrison of Yang Yanzhao in Song Dynasty, and it was originally a Tucheng. In the middle of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the city wall was built on the basis of sanhetu and big bricks. In 1747, Chen Dehua, a native of Anzhou, was appointed Minister of the Ministry of war, and asked to build the city of Anzhou. However, he was ordered to be the censor of the left ministry by his nephew Chen Yun. In the 46th year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1781), it was rebuilt, with clay inside and bricks outside, on a grand scale. The city is 8.4 meters high and 3.4 meters wide. The four gates are equipped with urn cities. Later, the city was damaged by floods for several years, and the fortress was not fixed. In 1938, the city walls and gates were demolished due to military needs. In order to prevent water damage, only 1.5 to 2 meters high city foundation is left, which is a witness of the long history of Anzhou and an important material for studying the development of city buildings in central Hebei. Now part of the ancient city wall is left, the wall is mottled and incomplete. The ancient city wall of Anzhou is a cultural relic protection unit in Anxin county.
It is said that Tianning Temple in Anzhou was built in the Tang Dynasty. It is one of the oldest temples in Anxin. The former site no longer exists. The existing Tianning Temple was rebuilt in Qiaonan village of Anzhou town in 1992, and then repaired and expanded many times.
