Jishi town

Jishi town is located in Zhaoling District, Luohe City, Henan Province. Jishi town is the seat of the Party committee and government of Zhaoling new district. The hometown of Xu Shen, the author of Shuowen Jiezi. There are Xushen Cultural Park and new campus of Luohe Medical College in the town. It has a long history and splendid culture. Jishi town is located in the southern edge of warm temperate zone, with mild climate and four distinct seasons. Human activities have been carried out for a long time. Up to now, there are traces of Neolithic ancestors' life in Fuzhuang. Historical evolution

Jishi town is located in the northwest of Zhaoling District, originally belonging to Heilongtan township. It was set up in 1992, adjacent to Luohe City. It covers an area of 36 square kilometers, with 32000 mu of arable land and 39000 people. In 2004, the former Yancheng county was put under the jurisdiction of Zhaoling district. On December 1, 2010, Jishi Township officially withdrew the township to build a town, realizing the system of town governing village, with the original administrative region and government station unchanged. The West and north of the township are surrounded by Shahe River, and Beijing Zhuhai Expressway passes through. There is a tomb site of Xu Shen, a philologist of the Eastern Han Dynasty.

Xu Shen, the ancestor of Wenzong

Xu Shen (about 58-149), with the name of Shuzhong, was born in Zhaoling, Runan, Eastern Han Dynasty (now Xuzhuang village, Jishi Town, Zhaoling District, Luohe City, Henan Province). ShuoWenJieZi is the first Chinese dictionary to systematically analyze Chinese characters and study their sources. It is also one of the earliest dictionaries in the world. Because of his immortal contribution to philology, Xu Shen was honored as "the sage of Chinese characters".

Xu Shen Cultural Park, with Xu Shen's tomb as the core, was started in September 2008. The buildings in the park are symmetrically arranged according to the traditional regulations, with three zones, one axis and twelve nodes. From south to north, it is distributed on the third level platform. The square service area is 32000 square meters, with six character stone pillars, text gate, Hanlin Pavilion, scenic area management center, Xushen cultural research center, tourist service center, tourist souvenir shop and other buildings. The exhibition area of the center is 33000 square meters, with main buildings such as Hanzi Avenue, Zisheng hall, Shuchong hall, Shuowen hall, cultural corridor, Kuixing Pavilion and zigzag archway. The tomb protection area is 43000 square meters, mainly composed of cultural relics, radical square array, glyph interpretation, etymological stone, changui mountain and other landscape sketches. On May 25, 2006, Xu Shen's tomb in the Cultural Park, as an ancient tomb of the Han Dynasty, was approved by the State Council to be listed in the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In April 2014, it was rated as a national AAAA tourist attraction.
