Located in the northwest of Qinyang City, Henan Province, Xixiang town is one of the four major FRP production bases in China. Xixiang town governs 29 administrative villages, 189 villager groups, 79883 people (in 2017), with a total area of 94.02 square kilometers (in 2017), and a cultivated area of 34665 mu. Baisongling ecotourism area in Qinyang City is located in Yuntai forest area in the north of Xixiang town.

In October 2019, Xixiang town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

General situation of villages and towns

Historical evolution

The town people's government is located in Xixiang Town, hence its name. The Qing Dynasty belonged to Lishang township. In 1935, the fourth district was changed to the third district. In 1955, the abandoned area was set as the West Central Township, and the next year, the abandoned Central Township was set as the West Central Township. In August 1958, the township was abandoned and Xixiang people's commune was set up. In November, Ziling and Jiezhu commune were merged. In 1961, Ziling people's commune was analyzed again. In December 1983, the commune was abolished and Xixiang township was established. On November 11, 1988, the township was abolished and Xixiang town was established.
