Cijian Town, subordinate to Xin'an County, Luoyang City, Henan Province, is located in the southeast of Xin'an County, connecting Luoyang City in the East, Xin'an County in the west, Yiyang County in the south, Wutou town in the north. National Highway 310 and Longhai Railway run through the East and West. Cihe River and Jianhe river meet in cijian Town, covering an area of 108.84 square kilometers. In 2017, the permanent resident population of cijian town was 6689600.
By 2020, Chengguan town has 9 communities and 27 administrative villages.
In 2012, cijian town's GDP was 2.38 billion yuan, fixed assets investment was 1.19 billion yuan, fiscal revenue was 20 million yuan, tax revenue was 46 million yuan, per capita net income of farmers was 8710 yuan, 13 industrial projects with more than 10 million yuan were introduced, including 3 projects with more than 100 million yuan.
Historical evolution
Cijian was cijian city in ancient times. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, cijian district was established as the Fifth District of Xin'an. In January 1956, it was changed into cijian Central Township. In August 1958, it was changed into Dongfeng people's commune. In 1961, it was changed into cijian District, with five people's communes and 59 production teams in Yanwan, Xiaotong, Matou, Youzhang and cijian. In 1966, it was changed into cijian people's commune, with 25 production teams under its jurisdiction. In 1984, the people's commune was abolished and cijian township was restored. in October 1994, with the approval of Henan provincial government, the township was removed to build a town.

In 1997, the Yellow River Xiaolangdi reservoir immigrants moved from Longqu village of CangTou township to Zhangli and laojing. In 2006, the government of Xin'an County put Hanya village, Xiaoshui village, cijian village, laojing village and Hezhuang village under the management of Luoxin industrial cluster. In August 2010, the government of Xin'an County put Chaiwan village and Longqu village under the management of Luoxin industrial cluster.

In 1953, cijian grain planting area was 5583 mu, with a total yield of 309000 kilogram. From 1953 to 1957, cijian entered the period of national economic development, carried out the socialist transformation of agriculture, organized farmers and took the road of cooperation and mutual assistance. In the great change, cijian agriculture still achieved sustainable development. In 1958, due to the "great leap forward" and the rural people's commune movement. At the same time, high index, blind command, exaggeration and "communism" were rampant, which disrupted the normal production order. In addition, three consecutive years of natural disasters have seriously damaged the vitality of agricultural production in cijian town. In 2009, cijian town government continuously improved supporting facilities and steadily expanded scale in accordance with the overall plan of "grasping pepper and tobacco in the South and big cherry in the north". Invest 1 million yuan to develop 2000 mu of big cherry, 2500 mu of Chaotian pepper and 800 mu of traditional Chinese medicine in several villages of Jianbei, and 800 mu of vegetable cultivation in Sichuan. In 2010, cijian town developed 2000 mu of virus-free sweet potato and 600 mu of thin skinned walnut. In 2012, the planting area of grain crops in cijian town was 5488 hectares, the total grain output was 24661 tons, the planting area of big cherry was expanding, and the per capita net income of farmers was 8710 yuan. In 1985, cijian Township developed 6381 large livestock. In 2008, there were 2950 sows in cijian. In 2009, there were 128 breeding households, 1150 large livestock, 17800 live pigs and 120000 poultry. in 2010, there was a new pig breeding company and 18 breeding households. By the end of 2012, there were 1445 large livestock, 12300 live pigs and 287000 poultry in the town. In that year, 754 cattle, 8264 pigs, 6682 sheep and 215000 poultry were sold. Animal husbandry has become an important part of the town's farmers' income and one of the pillar industries of cijian town's social and economic development.

It was founded in 1992 with a planning area of 15.26 square kilometers. Its leading industry is equipment manufacturing and new materials. It is positioned as an important heavy equipment supporting industrial base in Henan Province and an important new material R & D and production cluster in Luoyang City. A total of 153 production-oriented enterprises were settled, including 98 Industrial Enterprises above designated size.

In 1952, cijian town established cijian supply and marketing cooperatives, and successively established five distribution offices, namely Chaiwan, Youzhang, Yanwan, jianggou and Hanya. since 1992, both sides of national highway 310 in cijian town have been connected with Luoxin Industrial Park in the East and badushan in the west to build an "economic development corridor". According to the third national industrial census in 1993, cijian town has 143 businesses, 52 service businesses, 91 catering businesses, 21 repair businesses, 200 transportation businesses and 200 other businesses. Transportation
Before the Qing Dynasty, there was a road between Henan and Shaanxi in cijian Town, which could lead to carriage. during the period of the Republic of China, the cijian section of Luotong highway was barely accessible by cars, but there were rural roads between villages, so the traffic was not smooth. In 1952, the Xin'an County government mobilized the people along the road to repair the Xin'an section of liantian highway. Cijian people responded to the call and widened the road to 11 meters and raised the subgrade to 30 cm according to the quality requirements. Most villages in cijian town are located on both sides of Jianhe river. When the flood season comes, people on both sides can only look at the river and sigh, but can't get through. In order to solve the problem of travel difficulties for people on both sides of the river, construction of cijian bridge was started in October 1971. The construction of the bridge facilitated the people on both sides of Jianhe river. In 1973, Baliqiao was built in cijian town. in 1988, after investigation by relevant departments, it was decided to change national highway 310 to the north of cijian village. Construction started in April of that year and completed in July. The new road has a total length of 2.17 kilometers, a subgrade width of 15 meters and a asphalt pavement width of 12 meters. In the same year, another bridge and 10 culverts were built. The new bridge is 130 meters long and 12 meters wide, with 1.5 meters of sidewalks on both sides.
