Evolution of organizational system

The town has a long history. According to the unearthed cultural relics, human life existed as far back as the Neolithic age, and people lived together in the spring and autumn and Warring States periods. Since the Han and Tang Dynasties, Dayugou town has been under the jurisdiction of Gong county. During the yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the number of immigrants increased and the mountainous areas were developed.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Dayugou town was under the jurisdiction of Xiaoyi District, Zhanjie district and Mihe district. In 1965, Dayugou commune was established. In 1980, half of the villages in yuezhai, Yuhuangmiao, moling and Dayugou were assigned to the mining area by Dayugou coal mine, and a mining area office was established.

In 1983, Dayugou commune was changed into Dayugou township. In 1992, Dayugou township was withdrawn from the township and built into a town.
