Hou town is located in the northeast of Shouguang City, 25 kilometers away from Shouguang City, at 37 degrees and 1 minutes north latitude and 118 degrees and 46 minutes east longitude. It is adjacent to Hanting district in the East, Shangkou town in the west, Weifang Binhai Economic Development Zone in the north and Luocheng sub district office in the south. It has jurisdiction over 86 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, with a population of 68723 (2017), covering a total area of 213.12 square kilometers. The terrain is low and flat, high in the southwest and low in the northeast. It is rich in land resources, including 125000 mu of cultivated land and 180000 mu of salt fields. The average altitude of the New South is 10 meters, and that of the northeast is 5 meters, with a gradient of 0.3 per 1000. Most of the town is plain, and a few areas are depressions. The main river in Hou town is Dan river. Dajiu highway, Rongwu Expressway and Rixin Expressway under construction pass through the northern part of the town.
In October 2019, Hou town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

The second hall, also known as qinzheng hall, is the place where all salt officials handle official affairs. Santang is a forbidden area for top salt officials to study confidential affairs. The fourth hall is the dormitory where the ambassador and his family live. in front of the fourth Hall of the Department, there is an ancient sour jujube tree, which is more than a foot in diameter and luxuriant in branches and leaves. It is a rare big sour jujube tree in ancient and modern times. In late autumn, the fruit of Zizyphus jujuba is very red. There is a high platform behind the fourth hall, which is called "Taoran platform". It is more than five feet high and covers an area of about 50 square meters. There are many weeping willows on the platform. There is an octagonal stone table in the center, surrounded by stone seats and surrounded by blue brick walls. There is a Weitai River and a small bridge on the base ruler of the platform, and the platform reaches the top only after more than ten steps. Spring and summer, willow green birds, lotus fish. Houzhen mutton is a famous dish in Shandong Province for a long time. Houzhen people are simple, kind, hardworking and brave. Houzhen has been an important coastal economic and trade town of Shouguang since ancient times, with an important geographical location.
