Dongzhao Township, belonging to Guangzong County, Xingtai City, Hebei Province, is located in the north of Guangzong County, adjacent to Daping Township in the East and south, Julu County in the west, and Xianzhi Township in the north. It is 10 kilometers away from the people's Government of Guangzong County, with a total area of 36.69 square kilometers.
Dongzhao township was established in February 1956, and changed from Dongzhao commune to Dongzhao Township on June 2, 1984. By the end of 2018, the population of Dong Zhao Township registered residence was 25508. As of June 2020, Dongzhao township has 17 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is stationed in Dongzhao village.
In 2018, there were 7 industrial enterprises and 52 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Dongzhao township.
History of construction
In February 1956, Dongzhao township was established.
On December 8, 1958, Guangzong County was merged into Julu County and became the Dongzhao commune of Qianzhi administrative region.
On May 20, 1961, Guangzong County was restored as Dongzhao commune.
On June 2, 1984, Dongzhao commune was changed into Dongzhao township.

On July 28, 1976, the Tangshan earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 affected the territory. An old woman in Dongzhao village was killed and people lived in earthquake shelters for more than 20 days.

History and culture
Dongzhao Township got its name because the township government was stationed in Dongzhao village. It is said that in the early Yuan Dynasty, there was a big water depression. There are several Zhaoxing farmers on the West Bank of the old Zhanghe River. Later, two villages were separated out, which were called Dongzhao village and Xizhao village. During the Yongle period of Ming Dynasty (1403-1424), the people moved to the surrounding areas of Dongzhao and divided into four small villages. During the Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty (1465-1487), it was incorporated into the eastern Zhao Dynasty and changed to the eastern Zhao dynasty because of its homonym.
