Ganzhu Town, belonging to Guangchang county, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the north of Guangchang county, adjacent to Qianshan Township in the East, Minjiang town in the South and West, and Baishe town in Nanfeng County in the north. With a total area of 114 square kilometers, it governs 12 administrative villages, 1 community and 141 village groups. In late 2018, the population of Gan Zhu town had 28 thousand and 300 registered residence population.

History of construction

In 1950, it belonged to Chengguan District; in 1951, it belonged to Ganzhu district; in 1956, it belonged to Chengguan District; in 1958, Ganzhu commune was established; in June 1984, Ganzhu commune was renamed Ganzhu township; in 1990, Ganzhu township was changed to Ganzhu town.

History and culture

Ganzhu town is known as the cultural hometown of Guangchang, and Mengxi, which has the rhyme of Haiyan tune, one of the four singing tunes in Ming Dynasty, was also born here, and was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. Dasheng Village (formerly known as tutunqi) is the county government of gunanfeng County in the second year of Taiping (257). Chixi and Zhuxi are Neolithic cultural sites of Shang and Zhou dynasties. In Longxi village, there is also a single hole stone arch Yuelong bridge built in the Yuan Dynasty, Wenfeng academy built in the Ming Dynasty and "No. 1 in the list" built in the Qing Dynasty. Both of them are famous sites and have been listed as county-level cultural relics protection units.
