Xufang Township

Xufang Township, subordinate to Chongren County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the eastern border of Chongren County, Linchuan District in the northeast, Yihuang County in the East and south, Guowei Township and Lipi town in the west, liujiaqiao Township and Hangbu town in the north. With a total area of 84 square kilometers, Xufang township has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages, 70 villager groups and 62 natural villages, including Xufang, Shibei, Huiyuan, Changsha pit, Huangfang, sanchuanqiao, Zhongfang and Xinjian. In late 2018, Xu Fang had 14 thousand and 100 registered residence population.

Xufang township is the origin of Chongren pheasant, and the breeding industry has always been an important lifeline of the township economy. By the end of 2018, there were 19 industrial enterprises and 3 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Xufang township.

Historical evolution

During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Xufang township.

In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was subordinate to six districts, namely, Xufang, Zhongfang, Huangfang and Huiyuan; in 1956, it was merged into three townships, namely, Xufang, Huangfang and Huiyuan; in 1958, it was merged into Xufang commune; in 1969, it was merged into Lipi commune; in 1972, it was separated from Lipi commune, which was subordinate to Xufang commune; in 1984, it was merged into Xufang commune.

Xufang township is located in the eastern border of Chongren County, Linchuan District in the northeast, Yihuang County in the East and south, Guowei Township and Lipi town in the west, liujiaqiao Township and Hangbu town in the north. The total area is 84 square kilometers.

Xufang township is hilly landform, long in North and south, narrow in East and West, long in strip shape; the terrain is high in southwest and low in Northeast; the southwest is mostly mountainous, the East is flat along the river, and the north is mainly hilly forest. With an average altitude of 87.5 meters, feihusheng, the highest peak in the territory, is located at the junction of Chongren and Yihuang, with an altitude of 449.8 meters. The lowest point is at Xinjian village, with an altitude of 60 meters.

The river in Xufang Township belongs to Chongren River Basin. The main river is xufangshui River, with a total length of 23 kilometers. From Shibei to Xinjian, it flows through Huangfang, Xufang and sanchuanqiao, with a drainage area of 35 square kilometers.
