Huangcheng town

Huangcheng town is located in the northwest of Fengcheng City, where Fengcheng, Gao'an and Xinjian meet. The total area is 84.97 square kilometers, 60% of which is hilly and 40% plain. It is 40 km away from the urban area, 60 km away from Nanchang, 10 km away from Jiangxi Guangdong Expressway. Fenggao line and hot spring tourism line pass through the city. It has jurisdiction over 18 Village (neighborhood) committees, 132 natural villages and 27482 permanent residents (2017). The area of cultivated land is 49740 mu (including 45011 mu of paddy field), 39640 mu of forest land, 16000 mu of high-yield Camellia oleifera and more than 10000 mu of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis.

In 1950, Tancheng, tengtan, Damiao, Tangtou, zhentou and Zhushan were established. In 1957, it was merged into zhentou Township and Fangcheng Township, belonging to Yanshan district. It was renamed zhentou commune in 1968 and separated from HUTANG commune in 1972. Zhentou township was changed in 1984 and Huangcheng town was established in December 1996. In 1997, it covers an area of 88.8 square kilometers and has a population of 31000. It governs 17 administrative villages including zhentou, Xiaoling, Tengfang, Xiexi, Gaolou, Jianquan, Ganjia, Tiannan, Youjia, Liangjia, Qingxi, Kanshang, Damiao, Shangcheng, Luxi, Lutian and Zhushan.
