Tanshan town
Tanshan town is located in the north of Yifeng County, Jiangxi Province, between 114 ′ - 115 ′ E and 28 ′ - 29 ′ n. It is connected with Tianbao Township in the southeast, Shuangfeng Township and Huanggang Township in the west, and Tonggu, Xiushui and Fengxin counties in the north. The town starts from zengbeiling of Gaojian in the East, shihuajian peak in the west, Foziling in the South and Jiulongjian in the north. It is about 20 km wide from east to west and 21 km long from north to south. The town covers an area of 158.5 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 14355 (2017). Town People's government is located in Tanshan village, 20 kilometers away from the county.
In October 2019, Tanshan town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
Historical evolution

. Before the Song Dynasty, it was originally a piece of lumaozhou, with no village. People scattered in the villa in the northeast area of Xicao. (in front of today's Chen ancestral hall). At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, the name of the town gradually changed to Tanshan. Since the founding of Xinchang County in Song Dynasty, Tanshan has always been under the jurisdiction of Tianbao township. In February 1930, the county was divided into seven districts, and all parts of Tanshan belong to the second district. In March 1932, the Baojia system was implemented, and the third and fourth Baolian were set up in Tanshan. In February 1939, the abolition and Protection Union set up towns and townships. In Tanshan, Longgang Township and Tanshan town were set up, belonging to the fourth district. In January 1941, Tanshan town was renamed Tanshan Township, and its jurisdiction was the same as before. In July 1946, Tanshan and Longgang townships were merged and named Qingkai township. There are 10 Bao and 100 Jia townships under its jurisdiction. Its jurisdiction is the same as that of today's town. In August 1949, the people's Government of Tanshan district was established to govern today's Tanshan town and Tianbao township. In 1956, Tanshan Township and Shiqiao Township were established. After several changes, it was renamed Tanshan Township in December 1983 and Tanshan town in June 1985.

Tanshan village has nine natural villages: Miaojia, shangxiejia, xiaxiejia, banmuyuan, xiongjia, Yanguo, shizigang, zhuguotang and taojiaping.
Qianqiao village has 21 natural villages: Qianqiao, lannihu, dashiping, shizhupai, dashuilong, Gaoling, yaonaoshang, huajianao, xiyuankeng, Dongxia, kengzili, shanzixia, xiashibi, Lijiaping, huanghuamiao, menthoping, fengguanli, zhangshunao, Jieshang, poxia and xianguping.
Hantang village has 12 natural villages: Hantang street, huamenlou, Dongxia, Cangqian, songshuxia, baishuxia, liaojiachang, fengshuxia, huangniken, zhanbed, pingshanli and yinglinchang.
Shiqiao village governs 13 natural villages: guanpitou, Daping, shizuitou, Zhenshang, Minjia, Qingdong, Wali, shanzishang, gangzishang, Xujia, Qiaobian, Yangling and Dongyuan.
Zhongxing village has 12 natural villages: Zhangpi, Tujia, Dianqian, yaxia, guijingli, Shanxia, xingjiamiao, cangxia, Qiaotou, dunshang, dongjiawu and Shanghu.
