Zhuangbu Township, subordinate to Huichang County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the northwest of Huichang County, adjacent to Zhuangkou town in the East, Zhulan Township and Xiaolong Township in the south, Tieshanlong town in Yudu County in the west, and Baie Township in the north. The township covers an area of 49.87 square kilometers, including 6597 mu of cultivated land and 61300 mu of mountain land. Zhuangbu Township governs 6 administrative villages, 1 community and 70 villager groups in Zhangkeng, Zhengkeng, Zhuangbu, Xiaji, zhaifu and hepingxia. In late 2018, Zhuang Po Township had a registered residence population of 11 thousand and 200.

Historical evolution

In 982, Huichang county was established in the seventh year of the Taiping reign of the Song Dynasty.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was Zhuangbu and other townships. In 1958, it belonged to Luokou commune. In 1961, Zhuangbu commune was established. On May 15, 1984, Zhuangbu commune was abolished and Zhuangbu township was established.

History and culture

According to historical records, the name of Zhuangbu originated from huzhuangxi. Mr. Zhuangxi got acquainted with Luo Hongxian, the number one scholar in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1522-1566). The place where Mr. Zhuangxi lived "huairenli" gradually became famous. His son Hu Jinchi was buried near the Lianjiang River in huairenli. There were rest corridors on both sides of the tomb. Hu Jinchi guarded the tomb for his father for three years. Unexpectedly, a steady stream of local people and friends from other places came to pay homage to him, gradually forming a commercial port and a wharf. The villagers remembered Chuang Xi and his son and named the place "Chuang bu".
