Shuiyan Township
Shui Yan Township, Shangyou County, Ganzhou, Jiangxi, is located in the central and western part of Shangyou County. It is 38 kilometers from the county seat, with an area of 139.15 square kilometers, and a registered residence population of 28676 people (2018). It has 12 administrative villages (2019). It has 11437 mu of cultivated land, 120000 mu of mountainous area and 18000 mu of water area. It is a typical mountainous and reservoir township.

Historical evolution
In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Wu and Yue, and in the Warring States period, it belonged to Chu.

In the early Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Nankang county.
In the second year of Tongguang (924) of the Tang Dynasty in the Five Dynasties, it belongs to shangyouchang.
Baoda decade of the Southern Tang Dynasty (952), belongs to Shangyou County.
In 1984, it was changed into Shuiyan township.
In August 2001, Jinpen township was abolished and merged into Shuiyan township.

From Longmen Village, the waterway can reach doushui Town, Yingqian town and Chongyi county.

Doushui Lake
Two thirds of doushui lake is located in Shuiyan. Along both sides of the lake, waterfalls and springs are in the lake. Egrets and ducks play in the blue waves all the year round.
