Chijiang town

Chijiang Town, located in the northeast of Dayu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is one of the three major towns in Dayu County, with national highway 323, Ganshao Expressway (s66) and Ganshao railway passing through. There are two provincial roads from chijiang to Xinfeng and from chijiang to Nanxiong City, Guangdong Province. The area is 119.20 square kilometers (2018), and the registered residence population is about 48 thousand and 300 (2018). It has 1 communities and 15 administrative villages (2019).

Historical evolution

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to Zhangdou pass.

During the Republic of China, it belonged to the Fifth District and chijiang township.

Before liberation, it belonged to chijiang, Yunshan, Shuanglong and Xincheng.

At the beginning of liberation, chijiang, Tongxin, Liancun, Yuanlong and Tuanjie, which belong to the third district, and Changjiang, Xinjiang and Heping, which belong to the fourth district.

In the winter of 1952, it belongs to 11 townships of Yangliu, Changjiang, jiushui, banpeng, Liancun, Xinjiang, chijiang, Tuanjie, Gaolin, Tongxin and Yangmei in the Fifth District.

In December 1954, shangxiaping of Xinfeng County was included.

In 1955, it was changed into chijiang district.

In 1956, it belonged to chijiang, Tongxin, banpeng, Changjiang and Xiaping townships, and was incorporated into the new urban area in September of the same year.

Famous people

Wang Sanzhong

Wang Sanzhong was born in chijiang town of Dayu County in 1613. He served as magistrate of Guangdong, Longmen, Panyu and Chaoyang. Later, he was promoted to the head of the Ministry of officials. He was incorruptible, upright and not a powerful man. He was attacked twice. One time, Wei Zhongxian, the eunuch, was in power. He didn't cooperate with Wei Zhongxian, so he resigned and returned home. After the reign of Chongzhen, he became a literary selection doctor. Shangshu's priority was not to ask for information and love money, which was approved by the emperor. However, he offended Wen Ti Ren, the Prime Minister of the imperial court, who died. Later, Wen Ti Ren instructed others to falsely accuse him of corruption and banish him to Xinfeng County, Jiangxi Province. When he checked his home, he found only six liang of silver. Therefore, some other officials of the current Dynasty were also unfair and said, "what's six liang Two silver corrupt officials.
