Jiangkou Town
Jiangkou, formerly known as Yuxi, got its name in the Southern Song Dynasty in memory of a general who died bravely in fighting against foreign invaders. Jiangkou Town is located at the southern foot of Wuyi Mountain, 11 kilometers from the urban area of Jianyang District of Nanping City in the South and 22 kilometers from Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area in the north. Jiangkou district was set up in 1949, Jiangkou commune was changed in 1958, township was changed in 1984, and town was built in 1992. Zhu Xi once wrote nine songs of Qinxi. There are Shang and Zhou cultural sites and Tang kiln sites.
In 2017, the administrative area was 19397 hectares, with 17716 permanent residents.
