Jukou Township

Jukou Township, located in the southeast of Yanping District, has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages with a total population of 13222. The township covers an area of 135.76 square kilometers and a total land area of 172105 mu, including 134304 mu of forest land and 115598 mu of forest land. The township has superior irrigation conditions, including Tuanjie reservoir, Luoyang reservoir, Dongkeng reservoir, etc. 110 meters above sea level, mild climate, no severe cold in winter, no heat in summer. The annual average temperature is 20 ℃, the rainfall is 1500 mm, and the frost free period is about 290 days.

Farmers' income mainly depends on agricultural production and cultural tourism. On June 29, 2020, it will be included in the list of provincial rural governance demonstration towns.

Historical evolution

Hengkeng village is the largest overseas Chinese village in Northern Fujian. There are also some overseas Chinese in Tianxi and Shangpu. The association of Vietnamese Nanping in Shatin, Malaysia was founded in 2005, with nearly 2000 overseas Chinese from Jukou. At present, there are 7 families of Returned Overseas Chinese and 23 families of Returned Overseas Chinese in JuKou township. In April 2005, more than 30 people from Malaysia returned to their hometown to pay homage to their ancestors and donated 300000 yuan for the hardening of the cement pavement of Qiaoxing Road (9 km from Tianxi to Hengkeng). During the trip between Jukou and Malaysia, overseas Chinese enthusiasts exchanged information and cared about the public welfare of their hometown.

After the early 1990s, the residents of Zhanghu Town, a nearby town, set up the "Dragon Palace" tourism project in Nanping and other places. After initial success, it developed year by year and formed an industry called "dragon making". Under its influence, Jukou villagers also raised money to go out to "do dragon". In the middle and late 1990s, relatives and friends raised money to go out, and set up various tourism and entertainment projects in more than 80 large and medium-sized cities, which led to a large number of labor transfer. At the same time, a large number of rural surplus labor force went out to Nanping and Fuzhou to engage in human passenger transport and human freight transport, taking into account domestic service, commodity retail, electrical installation and maintenance, hotels, hotels, etc.

Jukou Township governs 11 administrative villages, including Jukou, mukeng, Guyuan, Linggen, Jiulong, Hengkeng, Shangpu, Tianxi, Banling, yuanlongzhou and cuntou. The township government is located in Jukou village. The residents are Han nationality, belonging to the Gutian dialect of Fuzhou language family.

economic development

The infrastructure is perfect. The 35 kV substation has been built. China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and other communication networks have covered the whole township. The cement roads have been basically connected to every village, and the cultural, educational, health, financial and other institutions have been improved.

Water resources are abundant. Wubuxi traverses the whole territory. So far, six hydropower stations have been built, including Changquan hydropower station, Fufeng hydropower station, yuanlongzhou hydropower station, Chiling hydropower station, cuntou hydropower station and Luoyang hydropower station, with a total installed capacity of 17000 kW and an annual power generation of 58 million kwh.

The agricultural industry has been improved. Tobacco production, edible fungi cultivation, freshwater culture and betel taro cultivation will be developed. Tobacco planting area is stable at about 1400 Mu every year, with an annual output value of 2.8 million yuan, to increase farmers' income; make full use of wubu river water quality, pollution-free, power station construction of thousands of Mu water surface, focus on the development of freshwater fish culture, to form a characteristic industry; based on the advantages of resources, promote the cultivation of edible fungi mainly Dictyophora, more than 1000 mu, betel taro planting area of more than 1000 mu.

JuKou township has a beautiful natural environment and good ecological conditions. Pig and cattle breeding is strictly restricted in the township. All 11 administrative villages have been rated as "ecological villages" at the municipal level. Yuqing, Linggen and Tianxi have been rated as "ecological villages" at the provincial level. Seven administrative villages have passed the acceptance of "no pig village" at the district level. The air in the township is fresh and natural.

Taking advantage of the construction opportunities of Fujian Expressway, Beijing Fuzhou high speed railway and Zhanghu bridge, Jukou Township first plans the construction of "beautiful villages" in Banling village, Jukou village and cuntou village, and strives to build Jukou into a "back garden" of ecological leisure tourism in Fuzhou. Jukou Township raised 33.07 million yuan to build a small and medium-sized watershed management project in wubuxi, which is mainly composed of market towns. Combined with the embankment, a Riverside Avenue with a length of 600 meters and a width of 20 meters and a riverside greenway with a length of 1400 meters and a width of 3 meters will be built respectively. Meanwhile, the planning and design of the inner residential community will be carried out to enlarge the framework of market towns.

More than 4 million yuan has been invested in the construction of beautiful villages in Jukou, about 2 million yuan has been invested to complete the facade reconstruction project of 150 dilapidated houses on both sides of the market town, more than 4 million yuan has been invested to build a sewage treatment plant with a daily sewage treatment capacity of 300 tons and 100 tons respectively in the market town and Shangpu village, and more than 1.8 million yuan has been invested in the construction of beautiful villages in Banling village.
