Xindu town, formerly known as quqiao Town, is located in Nanyang plain of Putian City, adjacent to Huangshi town in the East, Hushi town and Lingchuan town in the south, Huating town in the West and Chengnan Township in the north. It is 5 kilometers away from the city. It has jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages. Putu wat highway transit.

In 2017, the administrative area of Xindu town was 5846 hectares, with a permanent population of 103625.

Historical evolution

Xindu town has a long history. During the song and Yuan Dynasties, Shengde Township and Yongjia Township were administered.

Quqiao town in 1945.

In 1958, it belonged to Huangshi commune.

Quqiao commune was built in 1961.

In 1965, it was called quqiao people's commune.

It was changed to quqiao Township in 1984.

Xindu town is located in Putian City leading to Meizhou Bay. The infrastructure in the territory is improving day by day, with 84.7 km of class IV and above ordinary roads open to traffic, and roads are accessible to every village. The Fuquan Expressway under construction and the widened Puxiu highway pass through the city respectively; from the town government's residence, 30 km south to Xiuyu port, and 5 km north to Putian City.

Xindu town is located in the subtropical zone, a subtropical marine monsoon climate, abundant sunshine, abundant rainfall, warm and humid.

Topography

There are mountains, hills and plains in the territory of three kinds of terrain, around 10 kilometers of rolling hills, which extend to the northeast side of the plain. The Nanyang waterway of Mulan River passes through the area, and the main canal of Dongzhen stretches to the north foot of Hushan mountain. The rivers and canals on the field form a network, and the fields are crisscross.

Xindu town is rich in rice, sugarcane, litchi, loquat and vegetables. Edible fungi and artificially hatched poultry have a history of one hundred years. They are the vegetable production base and the famous town of poultry seedlings in Putian City.

Environmental transportation

Xindu town is located at the north foot of Hugong mountain, the South Bank of Mulan River, crisscross with rivers and ditches. Chenggang Avenue can reach the main urban area of Putian in a few minutes. Puyong Expressway (Puxiu Expressway) and Fuquan Expressway run through the whole area. Putian section of Fuzhou Xiamen railway under construction, Ligang Avenue and Chenggang Avenue pass through our town, with convenient water and land transportation.

Xindu town is rich in tourism resources. The main peak of Hugong mountain is 711 meters above sea level. It is one of the 24 scenic spots of Putian where "Hushan brings rain". There are stone age relics at the foot of the mountain. There are ancient bridges in Song Dynasty, such as Wufu bridge, Lichi king, Xiangshan palace, Lingyun hall, Xiangyun hall, baiyun temple and other cultural relics.

Xindu town has more natural tourism resources. Hugong mountain, the first mountain of Xinghua, is located in the territory. The main peak is 711 meters above sea level. There are many places of interest on the mountain. It is commonly known as "Eighteen courtyards and sixteen rocks" and has the reputation of "bringing rain to Hushan". It is one of the 24 famous scenic spots in Putian. Hugong Mountain Provincial Forest Park covers an area of more than 2000 hectares, with Hugong mountain, Mulan River, Lingyun hall, Xiangyun hall, Lichi king and other famous natural and cultural landscapes.

The town governs 28 administrative villages (12 forestry villages) and 323 villager groups. There are 60 party branches (28 in rural areas, 14 in public institutions and 18 in non-public branches) and 2753 party members.

In 2002, the industrial and agricultural output value of the whole town was 850 million yuan (including 540 million yuan of industrial output value), the output value of township enterprises was 1.12 billion yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 3580 yuan. Among them, there were 11 large-scale enterprises with an output value of more than 5 million yuan, with an annual output value of nearly 200 million yuan.

In 2006, the fiscal revenue was 30 million yuan, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fish industry was 278 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 4350 yuan. Agriculture is supported by poultry seedlings, vegetables, fruits and edible fungi, among which poultry seedlings are sold all over the country, known as the "hometown of Chinese poultry seedlings".

In 2014, the total financial revenue of the whole town reached 245.3 million yuan, and the industrial output value reached 4.21 billion yuan; the sales volume of Commerce and trade above the limit reached 381 million yuan, the total investment in fixed assets reached 3.46 billion yuan, and the output value of agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery reached 664 million yuan.

There is one senior high school with 2165 students in the town, and three junior middle schools. Xindu town is building a provincial rural junior middle school model school. Each village has strengthened the rural environmental sanitation rectification work according to the "five ones" requirements. 27 administrative villages in the town have been included in the garbage rectification work, and actively carried out the new rural cooperative medical care work. The infrastructure in the city is perfect, with more than 100 km of general highway above grade 4, abundant water and electricity resources, and developed postal communication. All 28 administrative villages in the town are connected with tap water, mobile communication data network and road cement.
