Licang town
Licang town is a town level administrative region in Mengcheng County, Bozhou City, Anhui Province. It is located in the southeast of Mengcheng County and in the North China Plain, which is the central region of China. It is influenced by Chinese traditional culture. The language is Central Plains Mandarin. It borders Wanfu town and Xinji Township in Huaiyuan in the East, Panji and Fengtai in Huainan across the river (CI River) in the south, chucun and Letu in brother towns in the west, and Baiyang in the county in the north.
In 2017, the administrative area of Licang town was 20201 hectares, with a permanent population of 105899.
Historical evolution
It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, there was no family here. The grass was overgrown. Foxes and rabbits were everywhere. Foreign hunters often put up their shotguns and campfires here for the night. Later, people gradually settled here. They reclaimed wasteland and cultivated it. The soil was fertile and the harvest was good every year. Firewood was like a mountain and the grain was full of warehouses. So it evolved into (Licang)
In the early years of the Republic of China, Cang township was set up here. After liberation, Cang District was set up in 1951. It governed such townships as Licang, Shunhe, Daxing, Luoji, luwafang, etc. it was changed into Shunhe District in 1957. It was withdrawn in 1958. In the era of great leap forward, Licang people's commune was established. In 1961, the system of Licang District was restored. In 1969, it was withdrawn and merged into two communes of Licang and Luoji. In 1975, the system of Licang District was restored again
In the 1990s, Mengcheng County was divided from Fuyang area to Bozhou area, and the corresponding zoning adjustment was carried out. The former Licang District was divided into Luoji Township and Daxing Township on the South Bank of the river and Licang town on the North Bank of the river with the Qianhe River as the boundary.
In 2002, Mengcheng County implemented the zoning adjustment again, and the former Luoji township was merged into Licang Town, forming the situation of dalicang town.

It is 15 kilometers away from 307 provincial road and 20 kilometers away from nanluo expressway. Cihuai New River is navigable throughout the year through the Huaihe River and the Yangtze River. It can reach Nanjing, Wuhan, Shanghai and other ports directly. The power supply is sufficient. It has two 35kV substations, and has access to program-controlled international and domestic telephone, mobile communication, conference television, data communication, broadband network and other services.
