A textual research on the cultural relics and human bones of the Zhou Dynasty unearthed from hanyantaizi, Shidian village, Shidian town; there were people living, reproducing, producing and living in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty 2500 years ago. Since the late Eastern Zhou Dynasty, there have been many famines, wars, plagues, small population and heavy casualties. In the first year of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty (1208 AD), there were successive droughts and locust plagues. The people were starving, eating plants and trees. Three or four tenths of them starved to death, and the population dropped sharply. In the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1368 AD), some people migrated from Shandong to live here, and the population increased accordingly. More than 200 years ago, handicraft industry and commerce expanded to the countryside. At the intersection of the land passage from Huoqiu County to Gushi County and from gaotangji to hekouji, more than a dozen families gradually gathered to serve the travelling merchants. As it was close to the mountain farm, some grindstones, flints and stone tools were sold here, so it became a famous stone shop.
