Daze Township

Daze township is a town under the jurisdiction of Yongqiao District, Suzhou City, Anhui Province. Daze Township got its name from a low-lying lake on the way. It was the place where Chen Shengwu's uprising took place. There are scenic spots such as gutai.

The origin of the name

Daze Township got its name from a low-lying lake on the road (the lake has evolved into a depression as an agricultural area through swamp for thousands of years. In the 1930s, when the Japanese army built the Suzhou section of the Jinpu line (from Tianjin to Pukou in Nanjing, now extended to the Beijing Shanghai line), they asked the local people about the name of the station. Because the railway passed through the shuitupu in daze township (located in the northwest of daze township), they said "shuitupu" (sounding similar to Tianjin dialect), but they could not understand it.
